Confused about positive ovulation when due period

Hi lovelies ! So I had a baby 10 weeks ago , first period came back 4 weeks ago there , testing for ovulation (not trying to get pregnant , if anything trying to avoid) I got a positive last night when I’m supposed to start my period today or next few days ? This morning it was a little lighter than last night . I’m confused , or do u think I could’ve ovulated over 2 weeks late ? Are cycles messed up after pregnancy?? I’m not breastfeeding !

It could be your body getting back to regular hormones etc, but I actually had this a few times when I've been a bit confused and thought I was ovulating so tested and got a positive OPK and then period started the next day, so I googled it and apparently you do actually get a small peak before your period is due! That's why I got a positive OPK the day before my period.

@friyay123 oh this makes perfect sense thank you ! Me and dp were silly and dtd a few times (baby free night and some drinks consumed🤦🏻‍♀️🤣) and was testing to see if I was ovulating or not , it’s all so confusing ! Thank you x

Yea I think I've read that before too, but it's always been that peak for me so never tested! 🙈 I was on contraception for years until I stopped for TTC so no idea what my cycles/hormones were like!

Oh wow! They do warn you that you're massively fertile in the couple of months after pregnancy but it must still be a huge shock!

Ovulation tests can show pregnancy. I didn't have a pregnancy test to use and thought I was pregnant the ovulation test came back positive, then I bought a pregnancy test and that was positive too. As you weren't using contraception you could definitely be pregnant

@whatsitcalledwhen I don’t know how to feel ! It’s a massive shock but I guess that’s what happens when u have unprotected sex 🤣 although was certain he pulled out (Tmi)🤣 @Cotswoldmama yes I only just found out today ovulation tests can pick up pregnancy!
