Just that really been waiting a year and had to delay conceiving due to this, hoping to just try as soon as it’s out….. bad decision or is it ok?

Your GP, or the relevant health care specialist, is best placed to advise based on your individual circumstances.

Baby born the following January.

Other than your physical record time there shouldn't be any restrictions.

Is the surgery planned yet if you've been on the waists list for a year? I mean you could get pregnancy and have the surgery after baby?

WhatdoIdoTree · 01/01/2024 17:51

Get the surgery done before, I waited to get mine done.

I was 19 weeks pregnant with twins whe I had my gallbladder removed. I had pancreatitis so they had no options.

Speaking from somebody who had their gall bladder out February 2023 , I would recommend waiting at least a few months. Everything needs to heal inside and your bowels can be very different afterwards (I still suffer now) so can take a while to adjust to these changes.
I was very sore and took at least 6 weeks to feel back to "normal". Pregnancy stretches everything so I'd wait till everything inside is definitely healed.

all Fine! A few years ago now!

Pregnancy I had gestational diabetes but I had that in my first. Recovery from gallbladder removal took maybe two weeks. Obvs not too bad cos I was having sex pretty quick!

I had to lose weight to have the gallbladder surgery, the surgeon wanted as little fat as possible around my liver. So I actually was in good shape to get pregnant.
