Took a strip test early and it was negative

I think my period is due around the 28th, I have some of those strips that you dip and I took one this afternoon with a negative result.

Is it unlikely it was a false negative?

Is there still hope?

Really feels like we're never going to get there

Currently on the TWW due af around the 30th dec. did the same thing knowing its too early 😓

Try first morning wee - it’s the most potent. But you’re still a few days early! Don’t lose hope until Aunt Flow arrives

Hiddenvoice · 23/12/2023 17:39

With my first pregnancy I didn’t test positive until the day of my expected period.
My second pregnancy, I finally got a positive test the day before my expected period.

🤞 this is the month for you!

Test when your period is due or overdue.

firsttimemum1212 · 23/12/2023 17:53

Currently 7 weeks. Feel awful from sickness. But I was due my period on a Saturday, I did a test Friday and it was clearly negative. On Sunday I had a raging positive. Things change so quickly, I would just try to wait for a more definitive answer.

I was a bit like you, testing early, getting line eyes, but then decided I couldn’t deal with that stress and it would only make my situation worse. So I only tested if my period was late. The only reason I did a cheap test early on the Friday was because I planned heavy drinking for parties on Friday and Saturday. Of course I went ahead with them and ended up being pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

Daisies12 · 23/12/2023 18:14

Of course there’s still hope. I can’t believe the pointlessness of this early testing. I only got faint positive at 15 dpo. Be patient!

So you're about 9 DPO? 52% of pregnant women will get a negative test at 9 DPO.

This seems wildly inaccurate. Likely you will have only just implanted at 9 dpo.

WeeOrcadian · 23/12/2023 18:20

You're testing too early

FMU and a reliable brand is what you need

And collect & dip - don't POAS

RedRobyn2021 · 23/12/2023 18:33

Ok I am going to wait and hope for the best

It's so hard waiting. I think I might throw out those easy @ home tests, I'm sick of the disappointment when I take them

I really thought this was our month, I just feel like I'm kidding myself thinking that negative test wasn't right.

God I hate this
