Moved it here from Infertility

I had my FET last Wednesday (2nd attempt). Yesterday in the office had some really sharp cramps that felt exactly the same as during my unsuccessful transfer. I thought let me go and get some cheap early detection tests to manage my own expectations. I did the one that says 6 (6days post transfer) and the test wasn't showing anything at all. I thought it was faulty batch and just went back to my desk. However, when going home had another look and the line appeared. I did another one this morning with FMU and checked it after shower (8min rather than 5).

I used SD before and always had straight forward negatives. However, it has really bad reviews.

What are your experiences and what alternative early detection test I could use? I know frer is the best but can't get it (husband has Amazon account and I don't want to tell him until it's more certain, enough me going crazy)

I would do another test tomorrow morning, and check within the time frame to be sure. It does look positive but if you read it outside the suggested window that doesn’t mean too much. Sorry I can’t be more help!

DuploTrain · 13/12/2023 14:01

I would be very cautiously optimistic with that result, and try again tomorrow.

When I was TTC about 6 months ago a lot of people where saying there were a lot of issues with FRER and false positives.

CoCoaButter85 · 13/12/2023 14:24

Thank you ladies. Yes, will have the timer on and make sure to read it as per instructions. I am certainly optimistic but can't raise my hopes too high just yet.

There's clear blue 6 days early digital one. But it's more expensive. Might see what it looks like tomorrow and maybe invest on one pack over the weekend

I tested early with this cycle (and was pregnant!) on the boots pink dye early detection. Much cheaper than clear blue. X

CoCoaButter85 · 13/12/2023 15:33

@graceinc22 thank you. Depending how it goes with Superdrug remaining tests might try that over the weekend. And congrats!!! 💐

Mine look the exact same as this so faint I heard that they do not necessarily give false positives but aren’t strong enough to give clear ones so I’m in utter limbo right now

CoCoaButter85 · 14/12/2023 23:31

@JadeEllie2015 at least I am not the only one. I did another this morning and the line is not getting darker. It's not very obvious looking at the pick but it's pretty much the same as yesterday's one. You would think it would get darker than stay the same if things were ok rather than chemical. I bought early test digital clear blue. But might just do another superdrug tomorrow. If it's getting fainter, I'm not sure I want to use expensive test... What are you thinking to do? Ideally we would need to wait few days and give another go.. easier said than done.

It may just be more dilute urine OP.
Good luck.

JadeEllie2015 · 15/12/2023 06:31

Interestingly I had a look at some positive ones online, I just googled these tests and put positive and clicked images not one of the tests shows as dark 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think they are just light lines on the tests in general honest id do the clear blue if I was you if I had one this morning I sure would these tests are pants the reviews are rubbish too and you’d regret using your fmu on it

CoCoaButter85 · 15/12/2023 07:51

@JadeEllie2015 I stupidly did another superdrug this morning and the line is hardly there at all. As @TheShellBeach beach mentioned it was probably the most diluted fmu out of all tests but still you would expect a progression if everything was fine. I think I will skip tomorrow and do digital on Sunday. If it doesn't pick up by then then I would expect it's definitely game over this cycle (it would be 11 days post 5day transfer)

I still have hope but more pessimistic than positive until results on Sunday

Attaching photo. No 9 being from this morning. No progression at all. Will let you know what digital says but it's not looking good unfortunately

Oh well, at least will be able to have few drinks during Christmas. Need to look for positives in everything

Same I did a different brand this morning I am definitely out too! That is a positive for sure wish you all the best for 2024 ♥️

RawrrGodzilla · 15/12/2023 09:15

I'd get a first response

CoCoaButter85 · 18/12/2023 17:10

@JadeEllie2015 - good luck for 2024! 💐

Just update. So I had chemical pregnancy. I ended up doing CB early detection digital which showed 'Pregnant' next day CB week indicator showed not pregnant. Blood test confirmed non-viable hsg levels. Stopping all my meds and starting again as soon as consultant sees feasible.

Lessons learned. SD tests were showing correct thing, fade line was just chemical. Only do early detection 6-7 days after transfer (I prefer knowing if there's chemical)and then 10 days either regular or digital week indicator as otherwise it just makes me too obsessed (it's hard not to be). (Would not have done bloods but had to travel so just wanted to be sure).

JadeEllie2015 · 18/12/2023 17:27

I’m so sorry I hope you’re travelling somewhere nice, I did another test a clear blue one and it has come back positive however I am not hopeful as I am 5 days late and the test is faint not faint that you cannot see it’s a positive but faint for that time sadly my last pregnancy tests in August looked like this and didn’t progress so I am not hopeful at all 👎🏼

TheShellBeach · 18/12/2023 18:58

OP I'm so sorry you've had another loss. Flowers

CoCoaButter85 · 18/12/2023 22:37

@JadeEllie2015 are you going through IVF or naturally? Yes, you should be having proper lines by now. So not much hope. I had a miscarriage not long before my 12 week scan couple of years back so toughen up now. For some people it's quick and easy and for some it's not. I will talk to my consultant about the fact that I had miscarriage and now chemical to see what he says. Just going for a short break within the UK for few days. Husband's friend is coming over and I decided better to have some 'me time' instead. Too close to Christmas so all girlfriends busy but I think it will be good for me to do something nice only for myself. Feel very battered this year (not just IVF) so deserved something nice happening to me now to close the year

JadeEllie2015 · 19/12/2023 06:24

Too right I hope you have some time to relax, I had 2 miscarriages this year partner said if I have another it’s done we won’t try no more so he might get his wish sadly, naturally but I’m 35 so thinking I’m probably not in with a chance anymore very irregular periods etc I had my daughter at 26 and been trying for another for over 3 years now only managed to conceive this year 3 times and no luck with holding onto them sadly. I hope you have a nice break 💐
