When would you say is the best time to get pregnant?

With my first baby I was pregnant from October - June which felt like the best time so I was ready for summer. But looking back, I was actually constantly tired through the summer and hated my PP body.

I think the best months would be maybe January- October? Be nice and pregnant through the summer and then ready for Autumn/Winter festivities?

What's your experiences and what would you think is most convenient??

(Planning to conceive within the next year so just looking for a little insight)

I'm due end Jan. Wasn't planned that way but it's worked quite well I think. Baby will be able sit up on a blanket in the summer.
I can get discounted booze, smoked salmon and blue cheese after christmas and indulge after the birth.

I have had February, March and may babies. If I had another (I’m not!) I’d go for April if I could.

As in have them born in April or conceive in April?

Have a May and June baby and expecting in February. I've enjoyed not being heavily pregnant in the summer this time and can wear lovely knitted dresses etc. I'm looking forward to baby being out of the newborn stage going into summer as well 😍

It is lovely having birthday parties in the summer though! Both times we've done something outside whereas with February it will have to be inside.

what has that got to do with what season your baby was born in - and what an intrusive unecessary comment !

OP I have a big family . Most of my dc were born in autumn or winter which I preferred. I had 2 in spring (April and may) and then one in august ( I was too hot !!! Baby was too hot it wasn’t nice !)

Have a May baby and I think it was perfect!

Got pregnant in summer when everything was care free and easy, was able to hide my growing tummy under jumpers over Autumn/early winter, cute little bump for Christmas, huge before it got too hot, baby was born when nights were longer so constant wake ups weren’t as bad, and often light outside so going out for walks etc was lovely!

I've had an April (due May), September and November (due December)

September and November babies felt like really long pregnancies because I was pregnant for 'the whole year'.

September also had multiple heat waves during the pregnancy so it was awful.

If I had to choose I'd have a March, April or May baby. Although November baby has been great to hibernate over winter with a newborn 🤣

I have an April baby. This was nice because the first trimester was over by Christmas so I could enjoy much of the Christmas food, if not drinks and smoked salmon. Then it went very quickly from the new year to baby being born, and it felt like he brought spring with him.

October baby- weather was cold/windy/rainy for the first 6 months at the stage when you want to get out of the house and going stir crazy. by summer it was time to go back to work.

Feb baby- ideal for me really as soon as a felt ready to get out more the weather was perking up and had a lovey summer with him.

I'm having an end of May baby and the pregnancy this far has been delightful. I can cover the bumb with jumpers, the weather is cool and I'll have light mornings in the summer to go for walks with baby or sit out in the garden during the evening.

Have in April.

winter babies suck. It’s horrible up all night feeding when night lasts from 5pm until 8am. Going out for walks are horrible, rainy and cold.

summer was much nicer, but we had a hot May and I worried about my baby being too warm. So for me, April is the sweet spot.

I think a baby born in Feb or Mar is good.

  • They are academically middle of the pack.
  • You aren't heavily pregnant and boiling to death in summer
  • you are pregnant enough to use it as an excuse to stay at home and not visit people at Christmas if you dont want to
  • weather is vaguely improving so you can get out for walks
  • you get to enjoy summer as they are "big enough" at 3-6m

I had a late April and an early June baby and I loved having spring babies! Went back to work in November with the April baby, so had the whole summer and early autumn off and it was lovely. Then just as it was getting cold and harder to entertain her, she went to Nursey where they had endless things for her to do in the day.

I've had babies the very end of November and then march. The November pregnancy I was second trimester for summer so felt good and wasn't uncomfortable but baby was too little to notice Christmas at all and the nights felt so long and lonely. March baby I had morning sickness during the heat waves of last year that was a bit rank however by the time I'd recovered from the c section and had settled at home it was Easter and spring and I had a wonderful summer getting out and about.

If I had another and could choose when they arrived I would aim for a birthday between march and may.

I got pregnant with my first in February, she was born in October.

My second I got pregnant in June and she was born in February.

I'm now pregnant with my third, got pregnant in September, she's due in June.

I quite liked having a little baby for Christmas with my first. Being heavily pregnant with my second during Christmas wasn't fun.

LMP 1st June. I wouldn't choose to have the baby over Christmas/New Year.

I am glad not to be heavily pregnant in the heatwave but 1st trimester nausea and tiredness was pretty brutal in July/August.

Less selfishly, a spring birthday (I have one) is great - loads of options for celebrating and people up for a party. Your baby will have many more birthdays than you will have trimesters...

I've had an April baby. I really couldn't think of anything worse than being heavily pregnant during the warmer months! And summer/autumn was lovely as DS was a couple of months older so it was much more enjoyable

I had my 1st on October 202p, so very peculiar as all end of year festivities were forbidden. I was really depressed and felt super isolated and lonely in the winter months pp, I found that only when the weather started to be warmer I started to feel better and be happier. I've planned this 2nd pregnancy to give birth in Spring, so I can gorge on Christmas food as I want, then at least have good weather and sunshine during the difficult first pp months. But I think that's just very personal and me trying to have a very different experience from my lockwond pregnancy and birth, more than the seasons 😅

I had my first baby in October, so heavily pregnant throughout the summer and it was horrible! So hot all the time and uncomfortable. Currently pregnant with my second who is due in April, looking forward to being able to go out for walks with baby when they’re here, as this was tricky with my first due to the weather being so rubbish. Lots more positives this way round I think.

Spring due date. Lovely time (not too hot) to have maternity leave. But hard to pick it with too much precision!

I was going to say the same as you or aim for a September baby but you do have the downside of being huge in the summer then. I have thought before that an April baby must be nice so by the time you’re ready for going out long walks the weather is getting better but if it was a bad winter and particularly icy etc you’d constantly be terrified of falling while pregnant. There isn’t really a great time is there? 😂 A lot of people probably base it on school year too

I have a May and September baby.

fell pregnant end of Aug for May so had a winter pregnancy, cute little bump for Xmas and not too hot when I was heavily preg. Also have good weather for his birthday every year and I felt good about my body again by Aug/sept.

September baby I fell pregnant between Xmas and NYE. Was very planned for a sept/oct baby but in reality it was the 41 degree heatwave when I was 8 months pregnant and it was so uncomfortable.

My birthday is in Jan and I have 5 family/friends birthdays in December and i wouldn’t wish a December or January birthday on anyone, so I would actively try to avoid conceiving in spring for this reason 😂

My DD was late May this year and I loved having a newborn that I loved the lighter mornings and evenings, sitting outside a lot etc.

I'm finding it so hard since it's been rainy, cold, dark etc to find the motivation to go out!
