thejollytrolleydolly · 01/12/2023 16:31

Heyyy jumping on for support! I'm
38 and have been trying since January with a mmc thrown in for good measure. We have one 3 year old already and currently trying for number 2 😊 it's an emotional rollercoaster to say the least! I'm hoping this month is the one so I can give my partner and daughter a special Christmas present 🥰 I've just started bbt and conceive vitamins so hoping they help! We're in it together ladies xx

bness · 01/12/2023 16:33

Same boat, 2 teens and trying now for 3rd. Been a year and I've done it loosely in ovulation dates stupidly thinking it would be easy but 10 ovulation dates later and nothing. Ive been told to up the vitamins, make sure the OH has vitamins that boost sperm, do it atleast every 2 days on ovulation days and relaaax

Bex4567 · 01/12/2023 17:20

Thankyou all for your reply. Have any of u been to the docters for tests as I've heard if your over 35 and it's been longer than 6 months u should go docters 😪..

I take vid d,vit c and folic acid but reluctant to take pregnecare or anything as apparently it messes with your cycle 😪..
It's so hard last 4 months we've done it every other day sometimes every day over fertile week and still nothing ...
I'm beginning to think something wrong with me 😪

Same boat...I'm ttc #3 and am 38. My two kids are 4 and 7. This is coming up to my 4th month of trying. I am feeling the same as you and beginning to worry. Age is really factoring in as well.
I had an ultrasound recently and seems to show things look ok.

I think the main thing which makes it hard for people ttc is that they stress too much. I was laid back ttc #1 and got pregnant within the first month. Ttc #2 I was pregnant but miscarried within 3 months of ttc. Then became pregnant again after 2 more months.
This time round I find myself worrying constantly looking at my period calendar & doing ovulation tests etc. This month I will try not to stress too much and take a more relaxed approach.

Good luck and try to relax. I read online that they suggest dtd every other day after your periods end and then every day when you ovulate for 3 days in a row. Supposedly that works for most people. Will try that this time.

thejollytrolleydolly · 01/12/2023 18:56

@Rose38 I think you're right with the stressing! It took me 3 years to conceive my first and I did nothing but stress in my tww every month! We finally conceived when I gave up hope and bought a dog 😂 this time round we just decided to see how it goes and we fell pregnant within 3 months but unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage. Again I've stressed every month after it happened and I've not fallen pregnant again... this month we've been taking things easy and I've tried to stop obsessing over everything plus cut out alcohol and lowered caffeine. I started taking the pregnacare conceive tablets before I read they mess with your cycle 😂 so I'm just riding them out incase they help! I read that when you stress about conception your body prioritises cortisol over pregnancy hormones so it literally stops you from getting pregnant! Crazy! Xx

MoonIightDreamer · 01/12/2023 20:50

Sez281 · 03/12/2023 10:04

@Bex4567 you have 2 kids already? Is your current partner their biological father? I know it's so stressful but you can't blame yourself, it can take up to a year, 5 months is t that long in the grand scheme of things.

If you really are worried then get blood tests done on cycle day 3 and 7 days after ovulation just to check everything is ok. Get your OH booked in for analysis too just in case it's something his end. 37 isn't that old so honestly try not to panic just yet. I know it's easier said than done. I'm 41 so have way less time on my side 😣 Best of luck next cycle 🤞

Matildahoney · 03/12/2023 10:18

I'm 41 and due to give birth in the next 3-5 weeks.
It took 6 months TTC then I miscarried, then another 6 months. We went for private fertility testing to be told there was nothing wrong and judging by our results we shouldn't have needed to be sat there. The only thing we did differently the month we conceived was being busy & not tracking etc, DP was moving in with me and getting his house ready to rent,I stayed there with no thermometer or ovulation tests and it just happened! I know it's easy to say relax when you want something so much! Everyone kept telling us to go on holiday or book a weekend away

Bex4567 · 03/12/2023 16:22

No there not the farther of mime but he has a 9 year old so he's ok I presume...I no its just so disheartening every month...sending baby dust to you...
I'm going into month 5 now...not sure what else we can do more lol

Sending baby dust to all who are trying to cocieve and pregnant

OP posts:
MoonIightDreamer · 04/12/2023 15:33

@Bex4567 5 months isn't that long so don't stress yourself out.
Took us 17 years to get pregnant the natural way. obviously shouldn't take as long as that haha . I'm currently pregnant again via ivf.
Have you thought about having any tests? Including blood tests Just to check your definitely ovulating and basic health check ect
Also for him 9 years is a long time and things can most definitely change in that time. Speaking from experience. I'd consider a sperm mot

Bex4567 · 04/12/2023 16:41

Hi all,

I’m 41, TTC #1 15dpo no AF and every test has been BFN! Don’t know what to think!

Rose38 · 21/01/2024 18:11

I've been testing positive for the last few days but faint lines. I had a chemical pregnancy last month so I'm cautious to feel anything just yet about these tests. I'm about 13DPO I think. We managed to dtd a fair amount this month only missing the 2nd day after ovulation.

Attached the Boots pregnancy test I did this afternoon. Easy@home lines seem quite faint still.
