8DPO TTC#1 - anyone else?

Hi all!
This is my 4th cycle, longing for 2 lines on a test someday! I'm 8DPO and have been doing ok up until now in my 2WW but as usual, the obsessive googling has started again as I desperately symptom spot.

Anyone else in a similar position or in their luteal phase at the moment?

For those of you who already have DC, how many cycles in to TTC did you fall pregnant? (If you were actively trying...)

@MaryHua ah that's good your scan came back ok. Did you go private? Oddly I haven't been offered a scan yet but I will push for it. My blood tests came back normal but they weren't on a specific day which I am questioning whether they are even meaningful. It included hormones, FSH & LH, prolactin and a full blood, bone and thyroid count. My husband needs a sperm analysis then our results get referred to a gynae from there!

Omg my husband is the same. He says I talk about it every day. I feel horrible as I'm so lucky to have my child and it sometimes totally distracts me from him so after this month I'm going to accept it for what it is and focus on him xx

@MaryHua hey! 6 dpo for me and feeling a bit tired plus has bad acid indigestion this afternoon. Trying not to read too much in to it. I will be testing tomorrow though 😂 even though it's ridiculously early.

@Fairy0708 yes I went with a private scan (Christmas and birthday present this year!) 😅
It was a big comfort, but I'd like to have the further tests for myself and my husband as well.
I know in some cases of unexplained infertility there is never an answer and that's too painful to even consider.
I'm 29 in a couple of weeks. So still young... but my husband is 36. I'm not sure if that would have an impact? I'm quite anxious by nature and like most women I like to know what's going on with my body.

It's completely normal for it to consume you, so don't feel guilty. You can yearn for your second child whilst still cherishing your first with all your heart. Because it doesn't impact a man's body in the same way, and they don't have all the hormonal ups and downs, they can't possibly relate. But fingers crossed for more empathy from them perhaps ♥️

@overthinkersanonnymus oooh early days but I know some people like the comfort and control that daily testing brings so I definitely understand both approaches.
Weird to wish this, but I hope any nausea you have continues and is an early symptom! 🤞

I took a cheap one tonight 😬 I think I just have crazy line eyes, but I feel like I see something. Won’t count myself out test anyway!!

@MrsO92 I can see something, did it come up in the time? Maybe try FMU tomorrow. I have tested and have a vv faint positive but I'm going to give it a few days to progress. I knew I wouldn't hold off testing!

I went and bought some FRER today so I'm going to try that tomorrow if my cheapie comes back with a line again.

@MaryHua how did you find the scan? Was it informative? I was considering one, and had been referred to fertility clinic before my last pregnancy (although the waiting time was 7 months). X

Still resisting the tests!! Haha. So difficult! I had some very very light spotting and mild cramps/twinges in my lower tummy today...went to do some Xmas shopping today and now absolutely EXHAUSTED!! thinking probably AF as due in a couple of days🙃 I agree that you seem to notice so many more symptoms when TTC, nausea, bloating, fatigue?! Will keep you all updated 😀

My scan was very reassuring and definitely worth it for my peace of mind.

@GL456 I'm like you!! Holding off on testing but I'm feeling more and more low now as the days progress despite starting the TWW fairly positively. Another uni friend has gotten pregnant again and her first baby just turned 1 a few weeks ago. It's crushing, the panic of not knowing if this will happen for me.
Does anyone else feel like this or have any coping tips?

I know exactly how you feel. No one tells you how difficult it is!! I also have a lot of friends and work colleagues who are currently pregnant, and they all claim they weren't even trying (I don't really believe that😅). Also, the worry of thinking it may not happen for me... All we can do is keep trying. I really hope you get your positive soon, and there is still hope this month until AF turns up! X

@MaryHua 8DPO over here and desperate to start testing but know that I’ll get so disappointed at seeing BFNs 😩. I’ve had sore boobs the last few days which isn’t normal for me this soon but just symptom spotting and probably nothing!

I had a randomly long cycle last month (ovulated cd22 instead of cd19 and my cycle was 47 days when normally it’s about 32). So really hoping everything goes back to normal this month as I just felt like I was stuck in limbo knowing I wasn’t pregnant.

I can definitely understand how a scan would give you that peace of mind - I’m tempted to look into it! Xx

@GL456 thank you!! It helps to know that we aren't alone. I do wonder just how much other people were trying before they got pregnant - I really want to ask every couple I know but it's such a weird thing to bring up out of the blue 😆

I'm 11DPO now and quite emotional. Wondering if AF is due tomorrow or later this week.

@NHT I can relate to the long cycles though, as my ovulation is getting later each month since having my implant out in august.
Sore boobs is a great sign, something I've been trying to see if I have. Thinking I'm inventing nipple tenderness out of wanting it so much 😂

@MrsO92 and @BellsB1 did you guys test this morning?

@MaryHua I tested again today and the digital says I'm pregnant, so I'm hoping for a sticky one! I can't quite believe!

It took me a year to conceive my first and a year to conceive the one we lost last month. Most of my friends have also spoken about it taking longer than they thought, I only have one friend who fell immediately.

How're you feeling today? I usually get emotional before AF, but I'm also an emotional wreck when I've been pregnant x

Oh congratulations @BellsB1 that's amazing news!! That's such an amazing turn of events for you after what you went through last month.
Fingers crossed a nice healthy pregnancy progresses for you.

I'm ok, up and down, cried a lot today as I brace myself for AF. I just can't imagine myself ever having a baby as it's just too painful. I started off the two week wait so strong but these last few days always get to me. But I'll keep you posted x

@BellsB1 also do you mind me asking when you DTD in and around your ovulation date?

Just an update from me...I'm out this month, AF has arrived today :(

Thank you both, it still feels very surreal and after last month I'm trying to keep my emotions in check.

@MaryHua I wasn't tracking this month as I couldn't bring myself to, but I think only once/twice as a maximum.

Wow that's incredible @BellsB1 that you still managed to catch. Just goes to show too that sperm really can hang around. I've always had difficulty believing that 😅

Hi all...
I'm in disbelief... I caved and tested. Evening of 12DPO. Please can people confirm what I'm seeing? DH is cautiously optimistic but until he sees a digital, he's not jumping up and down yet. 🙈✨

@overthinkersanonnymus thank you! I'm in shock and a bit numb as I'm scared to get too excited. Annoyed I didn't pee in a cup now to test with other brands.
But I'll maybe test again later tonight with other ICs. Have ordered some FRERs to arrive tomorrow so fingers crossed I seem some line darkening 🤞

@MaryHua huge congratulations 🥳🥳🥳 and well done for holding off testing until 12dpo (I’ve been testing since yesterday at 8dpo stupidly).

Hoping that my 4th cycle has the same result 🥰, but feel like it’s never going to happen.
