How soon after EWCM do you get a positive ovulation test?

After years of infertility thanks to undiagnosed endometriosis, I am finally through the other side of surgery to remove it and my cycle is back after being placed in medical menopause for six months!

However, I don't know what's 'normal' because what I thought was normal was, in fact, not.

So - for all those with a 'normal' cycle - approximately how long do you get your peak on an ovulation test after seeing EWCM? How many days later is it?

Think I got (what I deemed to be) the peak like a day before EWCM. But I'm sure this can vary cycle to cycle depending on various factors.

3 days before for me but also a week before I had some as I think I had a little LH surge. Are you using ovulation strips to help you work it out. I record the clear blue digitals, but pricy but very good & clear

Thanks both. It appears my EWCM comes 3-4 days before I ovulate. It really annoys me because sperm only live for two days!

Spermies can actually live for up to 5 days 😊 You should use pre-seed if you can is a concern to you, good stuff 👍🏼

The five day thing is a bit of an urban legend sadly (I researched it!). It’s quite an interesting story how they found out about it but yes unfortunately five day sperm are certainly outliers! 😁 The overwhelmingly vast majority of them die within 48 hours.

Good call on the pre-seed though thank you, I’d forgotten about that!

Last cycle I had EWCM in the evening (quite heavily TMI), and positive ovulation test the following morning. DTD the day of EWCM and day after. Got a BFP!

Someone posted on here that they can live longer than 5 days. Research was done. Will have to see if can find the thread

I don’t have it to hand so these numbers aren’t accurate. However, a lady was having a hysterectomy and consented to the tissue being examined. She’d last had unprotected sex five days ago. They found something like 15 sperm in her tubes.

So out of millions, 15 survived five days

It’s far better to have frequent sex during ovulation time rather than relying on the trope that they survive five days (when in fact it’s about 0.01% that do!).)

I could feel ovulation. I had ewcm up to the point I ovulated.

I had fertility treatment which confirmed I was ovulating when I thought I was.
