Hi all,

I thought I would share my personal struggle to get pregnant to see if anyone out there has any ideas or can relate.

Myself and my partner started trying around summer of 2021. 10 months later we got pregnant, but that ended in a MC at 8 weeks in May of 2022. We have been trying for the last 18 months since then, and absolutely nothing.

We have both had full testing and it looks like everything is working as it should for us both. I ovulate every month and have very regular cycles and periods and my partner's sperm has come back good too. I'm 28 and my partner is 34.

However, we recently paid for a private AMH blood test for myself and that has come back low at 8, when they said they would want it at around 17. The doctor did explain that this only affects though the success of IVF and isn't an explanation as to why we aren't getting pregnant now.

The clinic then still advised that we should proceed with IVF as even though it might be trickier for me now, it is a risk to keep waiting as my ovarian reserve is low.

We have decided to not do anything now until after Christmas and might just give it another 3 or so months to see if anything happens naturally; but I wanted to put something out there as we just do not know what is preventing us from getting pregnant again.

I never thought I would start ttc at the age of 26 and still be nowhere closer coming up to 3 years later :(

Thank you x

You're both still really young, but I know it's frustrating! Read the book it starts with the egg. I followed the advice in the book (mainly supplements), had 4 cycles of IVF which failed. Then got pregnant naturally and my LO is now 6 months. Obviously not saying that's what did it but worth a try

We've been trying for a year and we also have a low AMH - 11.8 (this was almost 6/7 months ago!) - we similarly are going to look to fertility treatment privately in new year as dont want to wait until egg deplete.

Fertility is hard. its hard watching people around you annouce pregnancies, just fall pregnant and to still be here struggling. I hope this gives you comfort - but i do believe one month it will just happen.

Similarly to reader above - i also read the book starts with egg and have added in vitamins etc espc ubiquinoal - and started my husband on vitamins (Proxeed plus) so if we do end up going down the fertility route - my eggs/his sperm are in the condition possible to help counteract the low AMH.

Low amh means you may get fewer eggs if you go down IVF route, however quality is FAR more important as it only takes one egg :)

Sorry to hear about your MC. Similar to you! Just haven’t been trying as long.

I done AMH blood test and it come back 10 for myself Im 29.

Not much advice I can give as I’m currently still TTC but I have just purchased the fertility conception cup from Amazon as I’ve heard such good reviews!

I’ve also been taking Macca root, folic acid, B6 & B12 recently.

Sending lots of baby dust xx

It took us 18 months to conceive, and unfortunately baby then had a problem and we had to terminate at 14 weeks which was truly heartbreaking when it was so so wanted.

I was previously taking stronger folic acid due to my age and weight. I've been taking a good pre/during/post natal vitamin (Her 9 if you're interested), which includes Vit D which is meant to be really important for fertility. I've also just added in 600mg ubiquinol for egg quality.
