10DPO - faint positive on ovulation strip

Hey, we have only been ttc for 2 months so I’m very new to all of this but looking for some advice pls!

I had light pink spotting when I wiped 8DPO and mild cramps all day mainly in lower tummy and on my left side - one week before period due. I am very regular. I’ve taken some strip tests, I heard that ovulation sticks can pick up pregnancy? Is that true? The HCG strip test is definitely negative I think but I can see a very faint line on the one step ovulation test strip today. Any advice? Is this maybe because I am due on my period in 5 days or could it be what I am hoping for?

No I’ve actually never had a blank ovulation strip there’s always a line on it
my dp peed on one too and he too got a line

Hey love, ovulation tests will usually always have a faint line depending on where you are in your cycle.

When you ovulate they get lower and will have 1 stronger line than the other when you are at your peak (about to ovulate hopefully)

Hope that helps. Just means your LH levels are low so you are not ovulating xx

(Just a tip from someone TTC, ovulation tests are a good way to get an idea of if you are actually ovulating but it isn't definitely a way to tell. only way to tell if you are actually ovulating is by using a basal body temperature thermometer or a blood test with Dr's)

LH levels fluctiate during Luteal Phase and pick up for some before AF. Fertility Drs will advise you to stop doing LH strips once your get a Positove for ovulation as you can get several surges and highs. LH can stay higher in some people. Not only those woth PCOS.

I tested this in August and got a dye stealer on LH strips 2 days before AF.
Best not to torture yourself.

Ovulation tests always have a line

That's a negative ovulation test, not a positive. There are always two lines on an ovulation test; it's only positive when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line.
