Is there anyone who tried something different/extra to help them get pregnant?

I'm 22 years old and have regular cycles. I'm on my TTC journey but it hasn't been a year yet so I can't go to the doctor's to get checked. I know I might be impatient but I wanted to know if there were ways to "boost" the TTC journey at home with different methods, supplements etc. Right now I am tracking ovulation and timing intercourse when I'm fertile and that's about it.

I'm a bit old school so I'll apologise in advance but it took me over 18 months to conceive my first and I never once tracked a thing.

Isn't lots of sex at all times not the best approach, relax, travel enjoy life have some wine, beers and do what you love, go to the gym, enjoy each others company eat the nice food.. I believe folic acid was the only supplement we were told to take.

The tracking the stress and the anxiety around conceiving will surely make you a bit miserable living life month to month?

I am 36 and OH 39. I got my OH to cut down om caffeine and increase water intake. He was on Maca Root, Ubiquional, Omega 3 and Vit D.

Me I started UBiquinol 3 months ago and always take Omega 3, Vit D and the only new thing this month I started 5 weeks ago Boots Proceive super expensive but has Folate and Vit C and better quality ingredients. I used pregnecare for 3 months and thought it worsened my PMS. i got my faint Positive today. I also did SMEP since July. It has been 9 cycles but only 4 cycles with SMEP and since fully weaning LO.

Edited - I also tried for the first month the concieve Plus Lubricant, just the 75ml tube this was the first month using it. And used a fair bit. I so have fertile CM and lots of it but more couldn't do any harm.
So no idea what did it.... Time, Supplements, Lubeicant, Ubiquinol, SMEP....

I did accupuncture when I was ttcing. I actually had a session the day I got a positive on an opk and I swear that it helped.

Took us over 2 years, tried pre-seed gel and was pregnant after 2 cycles.

I just started taking the seven seas trying for a baby vitamin, and after dtd laid with my legs up for like 15 minutes! No going for a wee till the time was up!

@thebraispink I wish I could be like that😂. But I do feel like after a couple more goes of trying a few different things to conceive and if it's unsuccessful then I'll take this route. Good mindset to have if you want to keep yourself sane 😅

@MixedCouple That was helpful, thanks! I should definitely start taking supplements and so should hubby. I've made changes to my diet but I think I need to encourage him too since he struggles with his weight. I also just purchased the pre-seed lube and excited to try it tomorrow when I ovulate since after coming off birth control I have had a very difficult time trying to get wet. Just a quick question, what is UBiquinol?

@SparkyBlue I've heard it takes a couple months of doing acupuncture to get pregnant. If I can ask, how long did it take you to get pregnant after starting acupuncture? I am considering this for my next cycle

Ubiquinol is the bioavailable form of Ubiquinoa or CoeQ10. It is recommended for couples TTC for a while especially those over 35.

I follow a Fertility Homeopath on Youtube and that's where I first heard about it.

Exercise does the world of good for both men and women. Even just 30mins every other day a brisk walk.
Get the blood pumping and heart working.

Two pregnancies. Conceived month 3 for both where the change was A) a month on ubiquinol and B) not doing any tracking after ovulation (no waking early for bbt, no body monitoring - literally no thinking about it til period due).

I absolutely believe coincidence is very much a likely explanation (especially given it didn't taken long). But I was surprised at how much better I slept and how much more relaxed my body was after quitting the tracking.

Starflower oil until ovulation. CoQ10.

TheLurpackYears · 12/11/2023 07:45

No tracking or anything, just followed the NHS guidance to have unprotected sex with a male partner (the same one in my case!) every few days. It seems the unfashionable way to do it these days when there is so much marketed to women to make them feel this is something that can't just happen normally for the majority.
You're 22, make the most of your child free shagging time, you will never have this time, head space or pelvic floor again.

With my first I got pregnant on cycle 3, I stopped tracking for that month. So just had sex whenever we wanted, I roughly knew when I ovulated though as my libido directly correlates but we didn’t worry about it. Around the day I ovulated we had sex twice (morning and evening), again, not on purpose to conceive but because we wanted to. Also used conceive plus lube for the first time on that cycle.

With my current pregnancy I got pregnant on first cycle, used a ph balanced lube as that’s what we’d been using anyway. I was tracking, we had sex one morning and then I got a positive ovulation test at lunchtime so we also had sex that evening.

Obviously this is only anecdotal but both of my pregnancies were achieved by regular sex as and when desired but twice on ovulation day/day before ovulation day.

Pregnant first try at 40 using ovulation kit and preseed.
