I should be 1DPO come Saturday, so happy to join. Though there may be other threads with waiting people you can jump on too

Bl1991 · 02/11/2023 21:04

Hellllo! Another 1dpo over here on cycle 5 of TTC my second.

I always look forward to the TWW and anticipation just praying not met by disappointment again this cycle!

Shootystealy · 03/11/2023 17:56

Hello both! This is only my 2nd cycle of TTC so its all so new for me. I will be at my parents house around about the time of AF so hopefully that will be a good distraction. @Bl1991 when do you usually test?

OP posts:
Swirls346 · 04/11/2023 09:59

Hey can I join ? I'm either 4/5 DPO today

HappyMomma123 · 04/11/2023 12:42

I’m 6DPO I’m happy to jump on. First cycle trying after 3 years of actively trying not to get pregnant after my last daughter. I’m 33 so a little older now and praying for us all 🙏🏻 xx

HappyMomma123 · 04/11/2023 16:43

Please help me stay sane… TWW 6-7DPO and going insane testing even knowing I can’t get a positive result. Zoning in on symptoms and just generally can’t think about anything else in life right now. Tell me I’m not alone!! 😢

1DPO- anyone want to TTW together
Bl1991 · 04/11/2023 17:48

@Shootystealy im definitely an early tester and tend to start at 7dpo with cheapies - im going to try hold off til later this cycle but I know i wont be able to hold out! How’re you doing? X

Shootystealy · 06/11/2023 16:21

@HappyMomma123 sorry I can't see a line there, but like you said, it's very early to test still

@Bl1991 im going to wait until 9DPO. Trying to keep myself as busy as possible with work. How are you getting on?

OP posts:
Swirls346 · 07/11/2023 15:44

How is everyone getting on? I'm either 7/8dpo and keep getting sharp central twinges in my uterus! Probably over thinking it. I've had a sickness bug over the last couple of days and worried this could've affected implantation but we will see. I've been obsessing more than ever with this tww and usually I'm not too bad!

Goldendoodlelover · 07/11/2023 17:49

Hi all - just jumping in! I’m currently 1dpo and so have just started the dreaded TWW. Think I am going to find this one extra hard as it’s our 11th cycle of trying and so I’m anxious about hitting the one year mark and I had also really, really hoped to be pregnant by Xmas! :( anyway have to find a way to keep myself busy so I don’t go too crazy over the next fortnight! Wondering how long I can hold out before testing…

Bl1991 · 07/11/2023 19:41

@Shootystealy ahh yes, 6dpo today and trying to hold out! I have however come down with horrendous flu like symptoms today, I sat and cried and felt so sorry for myself - very shivery and hot/ weak with intense lower back pain - luckily seems to be subsiding a little this evening but got a McDonald’s on the way as I can’t bring myself to cook! How’re you holding out, still managing to distract yourself?

@Swirls346 ohh it’s such a pain as it’s not nice to get sick regardless but even worse when you have the added worry of it affecting all your hard work! Are you back on the road to recovery now?

Bl1991 · 07/11/2023 19:43

@Goldendoodlelover That’s tough, I know they say that ‘x amount of people fall within 1 year’ but I’m sure it’s definitely hard being at the tail end of that statistic, that’s a lot of dedication spent on TTC and I hope your perfect little bundle is not far away now! Is this your first? X

Swirls346 · 07/11/2023 20:55

@Bl1991 It was horrendous! My little one was unwell Saturday and then I come down with it Sunday night. Luckily short lived but I'm still feeling sickly and off food. Would be hard to know if it's an early symptom or the bug (most likely the bug this early on).
What day do you think you'll test? Xx

Swirls346 · 07/11/2023 20:58

Was meant to add I also had a chemical last month @Shootystealy and it was at 4 weeks 6 days 😩 I had positive tests for 3 days but they never got darker and then I started bleeding. I was gutted but read so many things about people getting their BFP on the next cycle so now I've become a bit obsessed. I wasn't before that cycle! I genuinely didn't think we could conceive naturally because my son was ivf. But I didn't have regular periods back then like I do now so it could be the difference. Although we do have MFI as well.

Goldendoodlelover · 07/11/2023 21:03

@Bl1991 yes this would be my first! Have never had so much as a glimmer of a bfp unfortunately. Has some baseline blood tests and an ultrasound scan done and everything has come back ‘normal’ which is both positive and very frustrating… as there’s no reason why it can’t happen I still get my hopes up every month!

Swirls346 · 07/11/2023 21:19

@Goldendoodlelover hope you are ok! Remember it can take up to a year and some people that bit longer, it doesn't mean it won't happen. Has your partner had a semen analysis?
We tried for 18 months before having a positive cycle with IVF but I was so desperate for a baby I wasn't prepared to wait any longer and I had VERY irregular cycles so couldn't try properly. Partner also has low sperm count. We are on 6th cycle of trying now for our second 🙏 got to have faith and hope 🙏

Shootystealy · 07/11/2023 21:32

@Swirls346 thats exactly it. It was our first time cycle trying and we conceived and now I've had a chemical and I'm consumed with catching up to where we were. I feel like im putting everything on hold. I was around 4.5-5 weeks too. It all happened so fast. I was excited to tell family.

Hope you and @Bl1991 feel a little bit better tomorrow. Its nice to be able to share our anxiety! But yes a good cry might help also!

Im 6dpo today and feeling down. Last time I had started to have sore breasts by 6dpo but nothing for me yet, so convinced it's not going to happen for us. I've been a bit tearful but i think that'll be me just stressed out. I might test at 8dpo to just be over with.

Thinking of you @Goldendoodlelover hope this month is finally your month! Are you managing to distract yourself?

Goldendoodlelover · 07/11/2023 21:56

Hi @Swirls346 yes husband has had a sperm analysis, on the low side of normal but still all within normal parameters so doctor has said that we just need to keep trying until we feel ready for IVF, which feels like a huge jump! The only test I haven’t had is a HSG/Hycosy to check my tubes - am just psyching myself up for it really as I’ve heard it’s not a particularly pleasant procedure, but apparently it can give you a mini fertility ‘boost’ as it can unclog things! Out of interest what made you decide to bite the bullet and decide to try ivf? I basically want to get a plan in place for how long I’m willing to try naturally before pulling the trigger for ivf, but as we are unexplained I don’t know when to ‘give up’ as it were! I’m also a teacher so probably want to plan it around school holidays.

@Shootystealy I’m really sorry to hear about your chemical, that must have been really hard. I’m only 1dpo so very early days. I’ve got a very busy week at work so hoping that will help. I’m actually going away with friends this weekend who are normally quite boozy, and I’m wondering whether to drink or not. It’s hard to know how much to cut back in the TWW or just act normally; I don’t really want people to assume I’m pregnant if I’m not drinking but I don’t know how much drinking affects implantation or not… anyway I really hope it happens for you this month, sending lots of baby dust 🤞🤞🤞

SPsmama · 07/11/2023 22:03

Can I join please? 1/2dpo today, 6th cycle after MMC back in April.

It was my due date yesterday and I'm starting to feel defeated that I'm still not pregnant 😩 I was pregnant pretty quickly with my son and the MC!

Swirls346 · 08/11/2023 08:51

@Goldendoodlelover Yes I've heard that about the hycosy as well that a lot of people conceive the month after, I actually never had that check done.
So basically we jumped straight to IVF after 18 months because my periods were so erratic in the sense soemtimes I'd go 3-4 months without one so you can imagine how hard ovulation would've been to track and they actually said ovulation wasn't happening at all at one point, I tried letrozole for 3 cycles before my partner got his semen results. His results were shocking at like 5 million sperm and all parameters low. So our chances of conceiving naturally were very low. They did all the tests on him because he's so fit and healthy they couldn't find anything but eventually did a scan where they found a varicoceile (which is like a baggy vein in the scrotum) and it can warm the sperm up too much basically. Anyway we went ahead with ivf ICSI and it worked first round and now have my lovely son! I was 25 at the time and 27 now. So trying naturally for us I didn't expect anything to happen but we can't afford ivf right now and it's last resort anyway. Then when I got the chemical last month it gave me a glimmer of hope that the sperm must've met the egg. The massive difference now is that my cycles are regular for the first time in my life which will increase my chances. Personally that jump to IVF depends how long you want to wait, your causes of infertility and your age id say. IVF was a rough journey for me but I don't regret it xx

You never know though! I didn't get sore boobs with my first pregnancy at all. I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant because I didn't feel sick and my boobs were not sore in the slightest! Not sure when I'll test , not sure I can bare seeing a negative test so might just wait for AF. Xx

BusiBo · 08/11/2023 10:27

Hi, can I jump on here? Currently 10DPO I believe, ttc baby no.1 after a miscarriage earlier in the year.
I've not been very hopeful this month but this morning I've had some cramping....Google saying this may be implantation cramps? Has anyone experienced this before?
Might be symptom spotting and over analysing but its given me a little bit of hope...maybe 😬

BFmumttc · 08/11/2023 10:44

Hi! Ovulating today 🤞🏼 and jumping on! We had sex Monday and Tuesday and hopefully this evening - I always panic it isn’t enough or I’ve missed the window!

Goldendoodlelover · 08/11/2023 13:15

Hi @Swirls346 that’s really interesting, at least they finally got to the bottom of it - I always wonder why they don’t test men more thoroughly first given that male factor infertility is apparently just as likely as female factor! I was listening to a podcast the other day on sperm DNA fragmentation which can apparently be a really common cause of unexplained infertility but is often overlooked too. That’s great ivf worked first time for you! I keep hearing all these ivf success stories and wondering if I should just jump to it sooner but I’m only 30 and think am probably underestimating the huge physical and psychological (as well as financial!) toll it takes on you. Great to hear your cycles are regular as well, that all sounds promising 🤞
