Hot water bottle during tww .Stressing myself out that I've ruined implantation

I've been very careful to keep myself warm, warm clothing socks ect but noted that no heat sources I.e water bottle ect should be used. I had it in the middle of the bed but when I woke up I was lying on the water bottle on my back. It was quite hot and i was really hot. I'm just stressing myself out that I've messed up implantation. When I Google hot water bottle during tww i get shit like heat stress and embryonic death. Feel like I've fucked things up as I know it should be avoided. I had ivf and I'm currently 3 days past 5 day transfer so I know its time its imbedding into uterus and embabies don't like excessive heat

I should add my lower back so directly opposite my womb

🙄

Fertilised eggs have been implanting for literally millions of years. In all sorts of circumstances and conditions.
Your hot water bottle has nothing on all the famine, ice ages, plagues.

If it's going to happen, then it will happen.
If not, then it won't.

Your hot water bottle will make no difference whatsoever!

I think your anxieties will reach astroniomical levels during actual parenthood!

MoonstoneGoddess · 31/10/2023 12:17

@LNY1986 it's because my fertility clinic had advised no hot packs or hot tubs ect after a transfer so that's why I'm concerned about it

Please don't beat yourself up about this. It's bloody freezing at the moment so a hot water bottle in bed is needed. What will be will be. Hopefully on your back it will have been fine. I will keep everything crossed for you.

splishysplash · 31/10/2023 12:24

If you're this stressed about it then why did you do it? I don't get if

TomeTome · 31/10/2023 12:27

I think it’s highly unlikely the heat would penetrate far enough to have an impact.

Temporaryname158 · 31/10/2023 12:37

This is not going to affect implantation. Women throughout history have used natural hot springs, onsens, hot water bottles.

you need to not fixate on this. If it is meant to be it will stick.

MoonlightDreamer · 31/10/2023 12:42

@splishysplash obviously I didn't intend to ! If you read my description you'd know that.

Saschka · 31/10/2023 12:44

If a hot water bottle was an effective form of contraception, nobody would bother with pills, condoms or coils.

princefamilypaper · 31/10/2023 12:45

I constantly have a hot water bottle, it's the only thing that helps my IBS pain. Never been an issue with conceving xx

princefamilypaper · 31/10/2023 12:47

And k read that a warm compress actually helps implantion. Good luck with your IVF, i can't imagine the stress so I completely get where your anxiety is coming from but honestly it's never been an issue for me xx

TTCnewbies · 31/10/2023 12:48

I personally think it'll have no impact. If you are pregnant then great, if you are not then sadly it just wasn't meant to be this time. I know how hard it is though to overthink everything. Please try not to worry yourself, you can't turn back the clock anyway and it's bloody freezing at the moment so you've got to do whatever you can to get through these cold spells.

MoonlightDreamer · 31/10/2023 12:48

@princefamilypaper thanks that's reassuring. I'm just not sure my clinic advised against it and when I googled it , its everywhere that it should be avoided after a transfer. I didn't know if its specifically related to ivf transfer or 2ww In general

Beccylou94 · 31/10/2023 12:49

I don't get why so many people on here are so negative to each other. Ttc and life in general atm is sometimes so hard, we should be building each other up not tearing each other down.. fingers crossed for you OP

Rosiiee · 31/10/2023 12:50

You should be able to test at 3dp5t so the egg would’ve already implanted if this was your lucky cycle. Hot water bottle wouldn’t make a difference now. Good luck!

LoveYouHoneyBadger · 31/10/2023 13:14

@Rosiiee that's incorrect. The embryo cannot have hatched, implanted and is secreting hcg in 3 days! It's not biologically possible.
Any hcg In her body is from the trigger which she would only have taken last Sunday night .if you test before 10 days you'll likely still have hcg from trigger. For some women it can linger upto 14 days. Days 1-2 the embryo is hatching and 2-3 starts to implant and implantation takes several days and you can't build enough hcg in your urine to detect it overnight. Women who do ivf the test date is much later than natural

Lilacdream · 31/10/2023 13:20

@Rosiiee I don't think that's right. If she had a 5 day blast it should attach 1- 5 days after a transfer. She's only 3 days past, therefore nowhere near long enough to pick up hcg. And I do agree with other poster the trigger shot contains hcg will won't be fully out of her system and she may get a faint false positive . Earliest she could test would be 9dp5dt

Rosiiee · 31/10/2023 15:10

Oh maybe I’m wrong. I was naughty and started testing almost the day after transfer 😬

TheBirdintheCave · 02/11/2023 07:21

I went in a hot tub on holiday the day before I found out I was pregnant. It still implanted as it was meant to and I don't seem to have caused any damage. You'll be ok :)
