Any one conceived on the 16th day of cycle?

can some one please advise me?

Can you still conceive on day 16 of your cycle if you get a positive opk on this date?

started light bleeding on the 6th of oct and it then turned heavy on the 8th of oct af finished on the 10th fully.

Tested positive opk on the 21st of oct.

has any one had similar cycle and conceived?

You most likely ovulated a day or two after positive opk. If you’re ttc you timed it perfectly.

CeibaTree · 29/10/2023 00:15

DC1 was conceived after a positive OPK on day 17 :)

Starlight11111 · 29/10/2023 01:16

Conceived on day 16! Unfortunately resulted in a loss but it's definitely possible to ovulate then!

@CeibaTree @Nic17 @emmatcc1

Thank you for the advice 🙂

I was reading up about late ovulation as on my fertility app I ovulated later than my predicted day’s and also my cycle changed to 26 days.

people was saying that when you ovulate later than the predicted the womb doesn’t have time to thicken so I was like I’m out this month then 😤.

@Tarn85 That goes for early ovulation. If you ovulate before day 11 the egg doesn’t have time to mature and the lining isn’t thick enough. Late ovulation is after day 21 and the egg is not the best quality.

@emmatcc1

Hi Emma, I was so confused because I have never had a 26 day cycle it’s normally 28 day’s.

also I had an early mc end of August so I can only put it down to that and every thing changing unless it can just happen to our cycles.

another question do you count your cycle from the first day of a heavy bleed or does a light bleed count as a day of your cycle as I started light bleeding on the 6th of Oct and started a heavy bleed on the 8th?

sorry for all the questions,just trying you get my head around how it all works! 🙈

emmatcc1 · 29/10/2023 13:16

@Tarn85 Pretty sure first day of any kind of bleeding is considered cd 1.

Tarn85 · 29/10/2023 18:27

@emmatcc1 thank you!

it’s just you can read so many different thing’s! Confuses me on what I read up.

I ovulated on day 18 both my pregnancies; cycle 30-31 days.

ShowOfHands · 29/10/2023 19:27

CD1 is the day you wake up bleeding bright red blood.

If you ovulate later than normal - which can happen occasionally due to illness or stress or just because - your period tends to be correspondingly late. Your body still has the opportunity to fertilise and implant an egg. You need between 10 and 16 days for an average luteal phase (ovulation to period).

@ShowOfHands

Thanks for the advice, hopefully it will all regulate again for me as it’s been all over the place since my mc.

@ShowOfHands

sorry I forgot to mention! 🙈

if I had positive opks on the 21st,22nd,23rd
will it be to early to show up on a pregnancy test?

OP posts:
Starlight11111 · 30/10/2023 07:47

@Tarn85 I think I ovulated on 23rd (got peak OPK on 22nd on clear blue advanced), which puts me at 7DPO today. I'm due my period on 7th November.

I believe the most sensitive tests out there are first response early response - FRER which have some accuracy 6 days before period is due. I'm going to test first with an FRER on 1st November when I'll be 9DPO but that's still very early and might not show up.

If you ovulated before the 23rd and have a sensitive test you might get lucky but be prepared for BFN due to timing :) x

PinkRoses1245 · 30/10/2023 07:52

me again - will day 18 ovulation I only got a faint positive on day 31. So hold out!

Starlight11111 · 30/10/2023 07:54

Totally, we're all different. When I was pg before I miscarried even two days after period was due my test was still quite light, but that wasn't a low sensitivity one

Tarn85 · 30/10/2023 08:32

Thank you all! ☺️

I will hold out and not test just yet!

says I’m due on my af in 2 day’s but if I ovulated later my af probs won’t show that soon will it. X

I conceived DD2 on CD24. Nowadays I tend to ovulate between CD16 and CD18. So yes, perfectly possible- good luck!

What app are you using? That's really weird that it shortened your predicted cycle length after you ovulated slightly later than normal 🤷‍♀️ What is your normal luteal phase length (I.e. number of days between ovulation and period)? That should help you work out when AF is due this month.

I've used the Fertility Friend app for about a decade now. It's great, easy to interpret and sensitive to data you input (unlike premom I find....).

Tarn85 · 30/10/2023 09:51

That’s made me feel a lot a better! 😊

thank you for all the reply’s x

Hi,

I use the fertility friend app, I have used it for it a long time.

I will attach a picture of this month so you can see it. I’m usually a 28 day cycle but it’s changed to a 26 day’s. 🙈

OP posts:
Tarn85 · 30/10/2023 09:56

It’s not showing as attached so I will attach it again.

Can you see the picture I have added? X
