Stress strategies whilst TTC

I joined recently as needed someone to talk to and was so grateful that people responded.

I've taken on the advice given and tried to adjust MY expectations as well.

Last month I was over a week late on my period (which was unusual) but unfortunately it wasn't our month.

I wonder if any of you have any strategies you use to help with the anxiety and stress around TTC. I currently go on a daily walk, listen to music (singing/dancing terribly to this!

@Tk231 Hey there, sorry to hear your struggles ❤️‍🩹 feel like I’m in the same boat, my anxiety feels like the biggest barrier to getting pregnant, feel like im in the lizard brain constantly. Have been trying to go out for walks listen to music, strangely enough cooking has really helped me relax more, I’ve been getting into making soups, sauces and home snacks flapjacks etc just to focus my mind give a bit of breathing space, it’s helped but think I need more suggestions to help so I’m very happy you made this thread 💐

Great question. I’ve been upping my general chill time while trying to increase health through things like regular exercise, better diet etc. I’m trying to think of it as improving my overall health and well-being, as I’m not really in control of when (if) we are successful TTC. At least I feel good as a bonus. I bought myself a colour changing essential oil diffuser light and relaxing body oil… a nice hair mask… just little things so that I can pamper myself a bit really. It’s so important to try and maintain that connection with your body when TTC, because it can be very frustrating when it isn’t doing what you want it to.

I'm on a long road with TTC and am struggling with stress too. It goes up and down for me. My IVF was delayed again and there's so much life and work stress. Does anyone journal or see a counselor? I listened to IVF podcasts before starting on that journey and enjoyed hypnotherapy ones the last time I TTC.

I've been eating sugar as I'm exhausted and it keeps me awake to work. Healthy eating and keeping well-hydrated must help.

I was better at daily walks but insomnia and aches and pains from heavy DIY have stopped that. I was enjoying early morning gardening in summer, it was a great stress reliever. I've not found a good alternative, it was the morning sunshine and fresh air that helped and the dark mornings and rotten weather are miserable.

Fertility reflexology gives such deep relaxation, it's wonderful. I take CoQ10 and try to do stretching and deep breathing a couple of times a day.
