Can a positive line disappear on a pregnancy test?

I tested with a Frer on 11dpo and while it was processing I saw a very very faint line from a distance and got excited. I picked up the test after 3 min and I think I saw a very very faint line when I would look at it from different angles. Now after like 10 min I don't see anything. Looks like a bfn. I know you're not supposed to read the test after a while but I wondered if it's possible for a positive line to disappear. I've also contemplated it being an evaporation line. Although I know evaporation lines don't display straight away (only once the test Is dry), I wanted to know if anyone else experienced this? I am 11 dpo so I would expect to see a line by now so I'm talking myself down but I don't want to let go of that glimmer of hope.

I wouldn’t expect to see a line at 11 dpo? I only got one at 15 dpo. Wait and test tomorrow

Reading the test while it is developing can show urine gathering in the test line. I'd say if there was a very light line there which has now disappeared it's likely it only showed as it was still developing & now it's not there means the test is negative, as it's the other way around usually (going from no line to a line, which is usually an evap). Sorry OP, but it doesn't mean you're out.

@PinkRoses1245 Yes 11dpo may still be early. Did you get your bfp on a frer? Since I know its a very sensitive test and a lot of people I read about get their bfp on dpo 9-10.

@letitgoh The line was still there once it was done developing (around 3 min after) but it did end up disappearing after around 10 min so I would regard it as a negative test. As you said I'm still not out. AF is in 3 days so fingers crossed 🤞

Hello,
please help I’ve not had my period nor any signs and been constantly testing. All my test show a positive line then when I got back to them 5/10 mins later is disappears showing negative I don’t know what this means

@Blondiegirl9924 test results are valid within the time frames shown on the test. That's why if it's a bfn after 5 minutes it's negative. If your period is late I'd try a digital test and a week later if the digital is negative and no period see a doctor. If you're late you don't need to hold urine etc but if your period isn't yet due, kindly stop testing until it is
