Hi

can I get your recommendations on consultants that have specialism in short luteal phase? The private clinic near me has a 4 month wait and I’d rather go find someone with specialism in these areas.

happy to travel.

@SunSparkle where in the country are you based?

SunSparkle · 22/10/2023 14:52

@JulyT I’m in South Yorkshire but I travel to london regularly

Any recommendations for london specialists? I’m happy to pay privately, just want to be seen.

@SunSparkle the one I went to is probably too far south for you but it was called Angora clinic.

Hi,

I went to Manchester fertility for private testing. They have been very good so far and we got an appointment the same week

SunSparkle · 24/10/2023 22:16

@Daydreaming91 and @JulyT what tests/examinations did you have done as part of your first appointments?

@SunSparkle I had a “Fertility MOT” which consisted of Internal Pelvic Ultrasound Scan, Ovarian Reserve Blood Test & TSH Blood Test. So they count how many follicles you have on each ovary for that cycle which links to how high your ovarian egg reserve is & your TSH levels. They check your uterus & ovaries with the internal ultrasound to make sure there are no cysts or other issues.

SunSparkle · 25/10/2023 09:56

@JulyT the clinic I’ve been in touch with have suggested AMH blood test to check ovarian reserve, pelvic scan to look and womb and ovaries and then blood test and semen analysis for my partner.

no progesterone, oestrogen blood tests at this point and didn’t mention TSH though I had that measured by the GP in March and came back normal.

it’s about £640 for all the tests and consultation afterwards. Does that sound about right?

@SunSparkle yes that’s what I had, I just didn’t get my partner done because he has children already. Mine was £395 & for a couples one is £495 but I guess it depends where in the country you are with regards to pricing.

SunSparkle · 25/10/2023 15:33

Thanks @JulyT . The figure I’ve been quoted includes a consultation and treatment plan too so might include recommendations for further tests or a prescription for something. Getting my partner tested as although we have a child I’m not sure if sperm quality can just get bad as you get older.

tests mid-November and consultation end of November. I feel happier knowing we will know where we are at

@SunSparkle I had the same tests as what has been mentioned, my partner was tested too and we got a consultation and treatment plan included. I think our was around £500, I can't remember exactly.

SunSparkle · 25/10/2023 21:33

Hi @Daydreaming91 . Did you then have prescription costs and things to pay or any more consultations? Trying to budget for how much this might all cost.

@SunSparkle yeah, this is all quite recent and I was diagnosed with pcos so we are trying letrozole first. The prescription was £55 then £15 to be dispensed at a pharmacy, when I start it I then have to pay £150 for another scan. Manchester fertility have all there prices online in a brochure, might be worth having a look at just to give you an idea depending on what you want/need. Hope that's helped
