EWCM instead of period? Any ideas?

Im wondering if any of you lovely ladies can help shed some light.

My period is now late according to tracker app by 4 days.

I do usually have very regular cycles.

Im not ttc but there is a chance I could be pregnant as me and OH did have unprotected sex only once 2 weeks ago.

Today I’ve had quite a bit of clear EWCM with very small amounts of brown in it. Is this just the start of my period?

I thought EWCM came during ovulation and not when period is due?

Can it come with your period? Am I just ovulating very late? Is this an early pregnancy sign?

Any thoughts or experiences with this welcome.

Just to add I have 28 day cycles and I’m on cycle day 32. When I was doing opks in the past (didn’t conceive) I usually ovulated around cycle day 16.

@Confusedgirly so that can be a sign of early pregnancy. With both of my pregnancies I’ve had EWCM around ovulation, then it dried up completely until a few days after my missed period and returned in abundance! Have you taken a test? At 4 days after your expected period it should be conclusive :) good luck!

Updating incase anyone searched this thread in future with same symptoms.

I just got my period so turns out I can get a lot of stretchy clear ewcm before my period and not just for ovulation. Didn’t realise this happened.

Out of interest when did you get your period? Did you ever do a test? It was possibly a CP if you're normally absolutely regular.

Hi,

I am usually 28 days and I got my period 5 days later (today) cycle day 33 so I guess it’s still within normal range.

It’s abit of a different period to usual because I had a lot of clear stretchy ewcm yesterday and this morning. Exactly like the kind you get with ovulation but more of it.

Im not in full flow period yet but I have had some brown and also red blood but still getting ewcm too in between. I even had some brown ewcm. It’s abit of a strange period and it’s light and on and off but I’m cramping and I’ve had some bright red blood. I am pretty sure it’s my period but just an odd one this time around haha

Im going to wait to see if it gets heavier tomorrow but I am expecting that it will.

I didn’t test no.

I’m not sure what a CP would be like as I’ve never had one.
