How long did you wait from referral to hearing from IVF clinic

Hi All. Had our final appointment with gynaecologist Monday last week and he advised he would be writing a letter that same day to send to the IVF clinic, I was just wondering how long people waited until they heard from the clinic? I understand funding needs to be approved but unsure how long this process takes? North West based.

I heard within 2 weeks. I was surprised how quick that was and don’t know if that is typical. But I wouldn’t expect to be waiting for months on end. Good luck.

@vincettenoir that's amazing! Can I ask where you are based? I hope it's the same for me, I feel like I've done enough waiting now haha!

Hello! I was referred around 3 weeks ago and they said it would be 26 weeks max 😊 how are you feeling about it all? Xx

@waitingforourmiracle we waited around a year for the initial gynae appt and then they’ve said it would be 26 weeks - so another 6 months.
Im feeling the same! It’s such a weird situation to be in isn’t it 😅 xx

@Yolo23 the waiting is awful!! I wish we could speed up time! You'll have to keep me updated if you hear anything before then xx

@waitingforourmiracle I will 🥰 hopefully yours won’t be too long either 🤞are you telling anyone? I decided to tell my boss the other day just because we get on so well and I know I may need support with time off etc as my role is very demanding xx

@Yolo23 my family and closest friends know that we will be having IVF but not planning on telling anyone when we start, hopefully try and keep a little bit of the surprise element! Xx

@waitingforourmiracle ah that’s lovely. I had to tell my boss in work the other day - she was awesome and said she’d support with whatever we need. Only one close friend knows with us but same as you, I don’t think we will say once it’s started. I’ve held off with family as We’re so close and it’ll prompt a pile of concerns and questions love them. They’re so caring and would want to make sure I’m ok 😂 xx

@Yolo23 it's so much better knowing you have that flexibility with work! I came home to a letter from my gynae consultant yesterday that he had also sent to create so hopefully when they receive that they will get the ball rolling! 🙏xx
