and frankly am so shite at it that it's not worth it....

i have a couple of questions.

i've been testing for ovulation this month, and for the last three days have had positive?

is this feasible? for 3 days? or is there something wrong with me.

didn't use first pee of day as per instructions.

also, i am pretty late in my cycle, CD20! is that feasible too?

want to really go for it, as dh has finally agreed that we should, and appears to be taking it very seriously

any help or pisstaking gratefully received!

supplements that a woman can take that are 'supposed' to be helpful in optimising conception on top of the standard pre-natal vitamins:

Baby aspirin (less than 81mg) daily throughout cycle

Vitex Agnus Castus from period to ovulation (although some theories that can be taken throughout cycle but should be stopped when pregnancy established)

Evening Primrose Oil (1500mg to 3000mg per day) from period to ovulation (do not take past ovulation)

Vitamin B6 (100mg to 200mg) most B6 supplements have a lot less so should ask specifically for this

Sophable,

I have a book if you want it. Its actully about 'natural gender selection' but thats based on pinpointing ovulation so theres a really good few chapters on learning how to tell you are ovulating, temping, charting, CM ect..

just ignore the gender bit, or dont ...up to you

Tutter · 06/03/2008 20:53

excellent

well done

Heathcliffscathy · 06/03/2008 20:55

dis that would be great, but don't you want it?

do i know you in another guise?

twig thanks for those: baby aspirin yes and anti-histamine no....who knew????

what? like a cat?

yes this was when I was trying to conceive second time .. I had secondary infertility (ie no problems first time, problems second time) .. was given clomid for luteal phase defect and conceived dd first cycle on it

Twiglett · 06/03/2008 20:59

but this isn't you ... you have just started

remember every cycle you have a 25% of conceiving

just keep a note of first day period, date of ovulation (using OPK or charting as per toni weschler / fertilityfriend.com) and dates of sex .. at least 3 cycles

Heathcliffscathy · 06/03/2008 20:59

wow.

ok.

i'm a bit scared now, but armed with knowledge.

it's always been my fear that i fight dh on this for ages and ages and then i win and then i can't conceive.

sorry jules

just came back to say that I copied and pasted those supplement info that I collected almost 5 years ago now .. so you might want to have a look into them .. as advice obviously changes

once again good luck
