Periods after coming off the pill

I came off the pill back in August and had my withdrawal bleed as normal. About 4 weeks later, starting 18th September, I had a period, but it was really light. Since then I've had nothing except a tiny bit of spotting that was only visible when wiping, about a week or so ago.

When coming off the pill I did a bit research and found that it's fairly normal for periods to take a while to return, but as I got a period 4 weeks after my withdrawal bleed I thought everything was back to normal! Has anyone else had a period that returned after the pill and then seemed to disappear?

I was all over the place when I came off the pill when TTC the first time. I have two periods in one month then nothing the next then a normal period. It took 9 months for me to actually ovulate.

I'd still buy pregnancy tests and test once a month anyway.

Did you eventually ovulate and get back to normal without any help? I've been stupidly reading stories of women whose period never came back naturally after going off the pill and worried I'm going to fall into that camp.

Good idea about regular testing.

I managed to fall pregnant after the 9 months. I made sure to track it using an app and I appeared to go back to normal. My cycles ranged between 30 - 35 days.

I also took pre pregnancy supplements as Zinc is supposed to help and that's in the pre pregnancy supplements and just general other healthy living.

It is very hard not to worry though and run to Google so don't feel stupid at all. I would say if your still worried come 6 months down the line, your periods are still all over the place talk with your doctor anyway.

The thing is about testing is you can mistake light spotting as oh it's an irregular period when you might actually be pregnant. I only caught my pregnancy because my tests were going to go out of date the next month and I was like meh why not. So I might not have found out until it was obvious.

Honestly mine were a mess after being on the pill for 15 years. I thought that they returned to normal straight away because they seemed regular but then around 6 months later my cycles went from like 30 days to 54 then 63 and 42 etc which stressed me out because I was never getting positive OPKs, all pregnancy tests were negative and I was so confused I even called the GP. After 10 months I fell pregnant with DS and now he is almost 14 months and we are going to TTC for baby no2 and this month I already have a positive OPK so I think after all that and pregnancy and postpartum mine are finally returning to normal! (Fingers crossed). Also to add, as my cycles went so long and I didn't get positive OPKs I started taking Concieve Plus Ovulation Support supplements and that's the month I fell pregnant. Not sure if there is a connection but I'm going to take them again for sure! X
