AF late and now positive OPKs again?

Hello,

My period arrived today exactly 14 days late (which never happens!), I assumed I had assumed it was a missed period and wasn't going to come at all and started tracking ovulation again with OPKs. 4 days ago I noticed the LH surge was climbing again and got high readings yesterday and the day before. I was thinking I was going to peak today or tomorrow but instead AF just arrived! I am confused now am I going to release an egg during my period? Will I ovulate again in 2 weeks time?

I don't think you can ovulate during periods so I would think you will ovulate in two weeks.

@User651627 no, it's completely normal . It's not possible to release an egg during a period. That's not how ovulation works. At this stage of your cycle your follicles are being stimulated which will result in an egg for your next ovulation.
LH rises during ovulation, but it also rises just before a period. Your not ovulating. Its the change in hormones that sets it off. Right before your period your progesterone drops and estrogen rises once again . Similarly estrogen rises during ovulation.. this is what signals for your body to ramp up LH
