I am currently 9DPO & find myself back in the world of ttc 7 years after my first successful pregnancy. I forgot how much it can really take over your time and your mind 🥹
After spending way too much time on forums looking for the lucky few that test and get their BFP super early (I was one of them in my first pregnancy!), I decided I needed to look up some cold hard facts for a sanity check. I hope will help you too …
*the normal range for implantation is between 6-12 DPO, but all the studies and science shows the most common days for implantation are between 8-9 DPO
*The amount of HCG in the urine on the day of implantation is no more than 0-1.5mIU/mL and it then rapidly increases each day after
*Assuming implantation has occurred 8DPO (for the majority), HCG will climb to an average of 2-4 mIU/mL the day after (9DPO) this level won’t be picked up by even the most sensitive of tests (FRER and other very sensitive tests need at least 6mIU/mL
*2 days after implantation (10 DPO in our example) you can expect HCG to have climbed right up to 10-12mIU/mL. BFP’s are now much more likely with early detection, but still too low for a lot of the tests out there
Of course the lucky few do get their BFP’s from day 8 because they went through implantation on day 6. It just helped me to see the facts and figures to know that scenario is the exception and not the norm for most
This is just my own research and just for fun 🫣, but it’s really helped me rationalise things. It won’t stop me poas every day from 8DPO 😝 but it helps curve the disappointment of early testing knowing our body just needs time to do what it’s got to do! There’s still real hope!!
Good luck to everyone x
