TTC First Baby - Anyone Else?

Hi everyone!
I’m fast approaching 30 and we are 2 months into TTC our first baby! I just got my first solid smiley face on the clear blue ovulation tests today, after 3 days of flashing. We did the deed this morning (and also a couple of other times over the past few days) and I had some bleeding afterwards today which hasn’t happened before. I’m just wondering if anyone else is on the same journey/around the same cycle day that wants to connect? :)

Hi everyone,
I’d love to join if okay! I’m 28 and we’re on our 2nd month trying to conceive. I’ve been tracking my ovulation since CD8 and now on CD21 and I’ve not ovulated this month so far. I think I might have had a super early ovulation as my darkest lines were the first two days of tracking.

Angelselevenx · 26/09/2023 18:27

@Mauhea how have you found the last 9 months, I'm on month 8 now with a chemical on cycle 2. Time seems to have just flown x

Mauhea · 26/09/2023 18:36

Time has definitely marched on by! Nothing to show for it my end just yet. 'Optimistic with a dash of salt'' is probably the easiest way to describe it so far. My side of the family (grandma, mum, aunts, cousins) seem uniquely suited to conceiving, usually unplanned. So I'm keeping finger crossed that it'll be my go soon!
Otherwise staying relaxed about things. Using OPKs before ovulation and sparodically temping after. I found temping through my full cycle got too stressful around O day and my sleep was getting messed up as a result.
Sorry to hear of your chemical. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean this side of Christmas!

Angelselevenx · 26/09/2023 18:39

@Mauhea your time will come 😊 they do say that even the healthiest of couples can take a little while, although my hope seems to be diminishing as the months go by but trying to have the 'if it's meant to be it'll happen' approach the next few months.

I know what you mean about temping, I actually took the last two months off tracking BBT but started up again this month as I've got bloods being done at the doctors and wanted to pinpoint O

Roseberry22 · 26/09/2023 20:11

@Mauhea how are you feeling I’m either 6 or 7 dpo today as well. I keep telling myself to not run away with any symptom spotting as it’s more than likely not to do with pregnancy just yet!

@MissEmily5 how long are your cycles usually could you be ovulating later?

Mauhea · 26/09/2023 20:24

@Roseberry22 nothing particular of note so far. Maybe a tiny bit crampy? Though I did find myself googling 'can implantation cause tummy upset' this morning 😅 My luteal phase is usually around 12 days so counting down to AF's due day on Monday. Any ideas when your cycle's due to end?

@Angelselevenx Have you had many doctors visits so far? (If you don't mind me asking!)

Currently planning to give it until January before seeing the GP. If no luck this month I'm gonna put some genuine effort in to weight loss cause I feel like they'll take one look and tell me to come back once I've lost some poundage 😬

MissEmily5 · 26/09/2023 20:25

Average of 27 days, this month was my first month of testing my ovulation. I started testing on CD8 and now I’m on CD21 and all deemed negative. I used strip test until CD16 but found it really tricky to read, I then started on digital tests but all negative. I don’t think this month is my month unless by some slim chance we managed to get lucky early on. :)

Roseberry22 · 26/09/2023 20:38

@Mauhea im CD24 and usual cycle is 28-31 days so I think some time this weekend. I had cramping this morning but nothing else all day.

@MissEmily5 it may just be that you switched to digital too close to ovulation, if it was the CB ones I think they take a couple of days to get used to your LH levels. I started on CB digital last month as I really struggled to read the others. The first month I started on day 10 but ended up using 11 as didn’t ovulate until CD21! This month I started on CD12 and only used 4 before getting my static

Angelselevenx · 26/09/2023 20:48

@Mauhea I don't mind you asking 😊. I havent, I just had one after my CP in February to discuss with them and she said it was a positive sign that we fell pregnant as the sperm is obviously reaching the egg which is great, it just wasn't a viable match for whatever reason. I then left it til this month where I've had CD3 and CD25 bloods done (cd25 is on Friday coming) which will confirm my ovulation so that's a step.

I've also had Hertility testing done to make sure I'm all okay and my hormones are where they should be and I have a good egg reserve and everything came back normal with a high egg range so that's peace of mind. Hopefully it's just a matter of time for us and the perfect sperm and egg to meet x

MissEmily5 · 26/09/2023 21:14

Oh thank you for letting me know, I didn’t have any clue about CB tests, they’re the ones I’ve been using! Really appreciate the information/advice 😌

Hi,
I'm planning to start TTC in my next cycle, I'm 36 with Adenomyosis though so hoping this won't go against me.

I'm currently late this month however theres definitely no chance of pregnancy so it's frustrating as I've been regular but with heavy prolonged bleeding, so to not come on when expected is annoying. Had a week of pain so far so fingers crossed I come on in the next few days so this cycle can start.

I'm very nervous to start TTC as I'm anxious about my age & adenomyosis but it is what it is.

Twomumfamily · 27/09/2023 17:52

Hi All, hope you don't mind me joining this thread, I am 34 and TTC for our first with my wife (I'm carrying). I got my solid smiley today and we are heading in tomorrow for our first IUI - little bit nervous for our first TWW so any advice welcome :)

LacedBouquet · 27/09/2023 18:11

Hi ladies, I'd love to join this thread too! I am also fast approaching 30 and ttc for baby number 1 :)
I've just started cycle 6 ttc and have had chemical pregnancies month 1, 3 & 4.
I do feel like my long term use of the contraceptive implant (11 years) has affected my cycle & potentially my lining hence the chemical pregnancies but hoping for a rainbow soon. I am excited about this cycle, currently on cycle Day 6! x

Jenniferet · 12/10/2023 12:06

How’s everyone getting on? I thought I came on my period on Thursday (28 days after my last period). I bled as normal for 2/3 days (it wasn’t particularly light) then it turned to brown CM. Really unusual for me as periods normally 8 days ish. I got drunk at a wedding on Friday because I thought I got my period and was enough to use tampons. I tested on Monday as period stopped and BFN. Tested again today and see pic. Obviously it looks like a BFP but bit worried about the 2/3 days of bleeding that was like a normal period. Help !

Oh wow @Jenniferet !! That’s definitely a BFP. I had this twice but both turned into chemical pregnancies so I’m not the best person to go by. I’d suggest keep testing every day to make sure the line gets darker x

Jenniferet · 12/10/2023 16:23

@LacedBouquet thank you I will. I have clear blued this afternoon and it says 1-2 weeks. Fingers crossed! Hope you’re ok after your CPs. Lots of love.

OP posts:
Roseberry22 · 12/10/2023 16:42

@Jenniferet that definitely does look like a BFP, congratulations! If you carry on testing every couple of days with the cheapies just to make sure the line stays and gets darker x

Jenniferet · 12/10/2023 16:58

I will @Roseberry22 thank you so much for the support and advice. Fingers xd. Hope you’re ok too xx

Probably some implantation bleeding as it can be more for some women & barely anything for others.

Massive congratulations though, I'm just about to go into the TWW so 🤞🏻 for positive news in a fortnight or so

MissEmily5 · 12/10/2023 19:31

@Jenniferet looks like a BFP to me! Huge congratulations!

Onto cycle 4 this month but trying to feel more positive this month and trying not to stress as much. Hoping to have a BFP soon!

Jenniferet · 12/10/2023 21:32

Thank you lovely people, it means so much. Let’s keep each other updated. Sending loads of love and baby dust your way xx
