How late after AF has been due have you had a positive test?

Might be a ridiculous question but I'm so lost with what's going on with my body.

I'm 3 days late AF and 17 DPO but tested negative today. I've been cramping and having stomach ache for about a week so assumed it was AF coming but nothing. Moody, eating more etc too. No other symptoms really apart from palpitations.

I got a BFP with my 14 month old one day before AF due and used an early test today so it should have shown something. I'm fairly confident I did ovulate when I was meant to and had signs at the time so don't understand why there's no AF and a negative test.

What do I do now, just keep testing every few days or count it as a missed period? I'm still getting cramps and lots of EW mucas (sorry if TMI) which I only normally get when ovulating but this is cycle day 33 so I can't see it being that either.

In short I'm lost and after some advice, reassurance, guidance, anything. Thanks if you got this far

I had similar symptoms last month - stomach cramps and discharge - period came eventually (4 days late) but was so sure I was pregnant. Tests said otherwise though. Think maybe it was a chemical pregnancy that didn't take so that's why it didn't feel like normal PMS. Or could just be one of those randomly late cycles. Our bodies do seem to like to play tricks on us. All you can do now is wait a couple of days and retest. Fingers crossed for you. Try distract yourself with something fun!

18dpo with my first child (tested neg 11,12,14 and 15dpo) and this was on a first response so super sensitive.
are you sure when you are ovulated (eg based on bbt readings)? I only ask because my period didn’t show last month and it was because I didn’t ovulate, even though I’d had a positive Opk I could see afterwards that my temperature never rose.

I didn't check my temp or use ovulation strips as we are trying to be relaxed and take more of a let's see what happens approach rather than trying to time etc. I had all the symptoms of ovulating, cramps, EW mucas etc. But maybe I didn't then? The cramps I've been having now have been for about a week and more extreme than period pains. I've been having a lot of EW mucas for the past 4 days or so too which I don't normally get unless I'm ovulating. Maybe it's a weird month and I need to forget about it.

I thought the cramps had stopped but they are actually getting worse today. I wouldn't normally have them for this long before AF appears, maybe 2 days but this is different. I spoke to my husband about it a little while ago and he reminded me this happened before and I ended up having a massive bleed which landed me in urgent care when I was about 10 days late. They put it down to a chemical then so could be that I guess.

I need to forget it for a few days and see what happens I think because I'm driving myself crazy wondering what's going on. The cramps and pain and so severe at the mo though so maybe AF will appear later and stop the wondering

The day my period was due, faint line.

So I'm up to 12 days late today with negative tests still. Cramps, stomach ache etc. Drs have told me to leave it another week or go to A&E if the pain gets too bad. So confused 😕
