Trying to conceive first child but have worries

Hi all
thought I’d post on here as need some advice around trying to conceive
I am currently in my first cycle of trying and I am 28 years old
in January this year, I caught chickenpox for the first time in my life but recovered within a few weeks. A friend of mine told me that catching chicken pox can lead to infertility as it effects your reproductive organs and now I’m really worried
is there anyone on here who has had adult chicken pox but has successfully gone on to fall pregnant?

There are no studies that prove any link between chicken pox and female infertilty. If you developed severe complications it may have done but if you caught and recovered relatively quickly with no other issues you will be fine.

It can reduce sperm count temporarily though. It's also dangerous to catch when you are pregnant so it's very good you caught it now :)

It's very good you caught chickenpox before falling pregnant as you (and your unborn baby) will now have some immunity - as I understand it, your antibodies will transfer across the womb while pregnant and protect them as a newborn. And as PP said, it's dangerous to catch it while pregnant.
As for infertility, I've never heard that! I'm sure it would be well-known if it did. Good luck ttc 😄
