Hey!!

So I swore this time round I’d be a lot more chilled but of course that hasn’t happened 😂 why is the TWW so painful 😂

Anyone else in the TWW that wants to join? Any one testing this week?

My cycle seems to of shortened since having my first (22 months old) use to be around 29 days now it’s about 26/27 days.
So my period is meant to be due on Weds. I dunno when to test!?
I’m having some of the same symptoms as with my first, the main one is the taste of metal twice last week.
Still got a high BBT this morning.
i remembered last time I looked at my RHR as well and that remained high. Will look at this chart today!

just looking for company in the TWW 🥰

@FigandHoney I'm going to Google AVA fertility bracelets today, thank you! Xx

FigandHoney · 14/09/2023 09:27

@Mama09876 My cycle has also changed since my first pregnancy. Not so much the length of it. That seems to be pretty regular now, when it was less so before. But I now have very heavy periods. They are heavy and last over a week. And far more clots. Actually had me worried so I went to the GP, and they said it's normal for your cycle to change and typically for af to get geavier.

@Bubblesandtroubles Yes TTC is strenuous. It does make you hyperaware of time and your body. I remember how when we hit 5 months I was so worried. I thought it would happen immediately. But actually it's completely in the realm of normal. Up to a year and depending on your age more is normal. It's only like a 30% chance each time, if you time everything perfectly. So it's like gambling every month. So don't lose hope. It will happen.

Mama09876 · 14/09/2023 09:39

@FigandHoney funny you should say that about heavier periods I’m the same! And I spoke to my friend about it and she said it can be due to scar tissue on uterus from last time where the placenta was, just means heavier period. Not sure how true that is but I’m going with that 😂

@Bubblesandtroubles it’s crazy isn’t it. I would love to be able to take the chilled approach but to much of a control freak 😂 last time we fell pregnant after the 2nd month so I had the same feelings this time round thinking it would just happen but also you hear so many stories about TTC 2nd child and fertility issues I thought it’s best the start now and see what happens!
When you look at that percentage 30% is low really! It’s just luck of the draw isn’t it, hoping the sperm and egg meet!

Still no AF for me but I do think it’ll arrive at any time, got that heavy feeling and headaches today! Weirdly not that hungry and lost my appetite a a bit this morning.

Tested again this morning and another BFN. Thinking I may be out this month, though no sign of AF either. Did have horrid cramping yesterday and this morning and constipated but not much else apart from insane tiredness.
Holiday has not worked as a distraction and I'm on my way to pick up a pregnancy test for tomorrow from the pharmacy 🙈

FigandHoney · 14/09/2023 09:42

I am even more confused about what is going on with my body. Can unprotected BDing mess with your cycle?
So my temperature only increased minimally today. Still hovering around the same as Thursday and Friday. Making the weekend and Monday's higher temperatures outliers. But my rhr has spiked.
And then... sorry if this is TMI... but my husband said this morning he can smell me ovulating. I have not talked to him about my cycle at all this month.
And to give some context to this he is in fact usually able to predict my ovulation and my period by smell. Even before we started to TTC. Literally days before it happens.
But then he is also hoping for more BDing. So the statement isn't completely unbiased.

FigandHoney · 14/09/2023 09:43

@FirstTimeMumma2021 Remind me when us your AF due. Last time I did not test positive until 3 days after my AF was due. And it was a fairly faint line. So you don't know unless you get your AF

FirstTimeMumma2021 · 14/09/2023 09:46

@FigandHoney I'm so irregular that I have no idea. I got a smiley opk 11 days ago, according to clearblue website it says earliest I should test with one of their early tests is tomorrow so will see what I can get abroad. Don't know who I was fooling thinking that 2 pack would suffice 😂

Mama09876 · 14/09/2023 09:52

@FirstTimeMumma2021 it’s so annoying isn’t it, AF being late and BFN! I think im going to get another on my lunch and just keep testing till my AF arrives. What DPO are you now?

im clutching on to hope that natural cycles got my ovulation wrong? Originally it was actually predicted for the Sat (2nd) then moved to Thurs (31st) after my BBT. So it probably is right but holding on to hope I might of ovulated late and tested to soon 🤷🏼‍♀️

@FigandHoney i mean high temp and high RHR are really good signs? Maybe higher hormones he can smell? Or maybe double ovulation? You can have ovulate twice sometimes can’t you? (I dunno if I’m made that up 😂🙈)

@Mama09876 I think I'm between 10 and 11 days dpo so still time but just not feeling it. My boobs feel perfectly normal lol 😂

I'm going to go to a pharmacy here and pick up a pack. I'm not a big fan of cb but also not waiting for another 4 days lol!

How many dpo are you now?

Mama09876 · 14/09/2023 11:05

@FirstTimeMumma2021 there is still time for sure! 4 days is a long time in the TWW 😂

I’ve just gone the toilet and I’ve started spotting so AF will arrive today I think. I’m out 😔 I would have been 14 DPO. Only good thing is it’s arrived right on time so least I know cycles are ok.

OP posts:
FirstTimeMumma2021 · 17/09/2023 10:12

Pretty sure I'm out this month, 14dpo and bfn. Really wish AF would just hurry up now 😒

Mama09876 · 17/09/2023 13:24

@FirstTimeMumma2021 this was me after the bfn just wanted my AF to arrive and actually felt so much less stress and anxiety when it finally did! Amazing what the TWW does to you!! It’s crazy.
My AF just come to an end, I go away at the weekend so going to enjoy the holiday then think about TTC at the end of Oct.
(I’ll miss next ovulation as I’m away and not with OH)

OP posts:
FirstTimeMumma2021 · 17/09/2023 14:39

@Mama09876 I know, I had a wee cry this morning and felt so stupid. As cycles are so long its such a wait lol

Mama09876 · 16/10/2023 11:16

Hi Ladies!
Hows everyone getting on? Any BFP?

I missed last month and to be honest it was quite nice to not have the stress 😂 going in to ovulation week this week!

I’ve not used ovulation sticks before but going to try this month, any one use them? I read the best time to take them is 2/3rd wee of the day? Not the first, is that right? Still BBT as well, so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

OP posts:
Bubblesandtroubles · 16/10/2023 13:08

@Mama09876 hope your month of no stress had left you refreshed and ready to go again!
I think you're not supposed to use FMU. I normally try and do a couple each day as worried about missing the peak. But I get really confused with them and only actually did a couple this month before basically giving up!
I'm either due AF today or Wednesday depending which App I believe. No sign as of last time I checked. Trying to hold off testing until either I get passed Wednesday or obvs AF arrives and gives me the answer anyway.
Really getting carried away with myself but trying not to get my hopes up.
I'm going to have to go check again now as feel I might have jinxed myself with this message... 😩

Bubblesandtroubles · 16/10/2023 13:10

Phew! Just been to check and still no sign... 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Mama09876 · 16/10/2023 13:59

@Bubblesandtroubles yeah it was nice not having the stress and really feeling positive about this month! Hopefully. I’ve been eating better and taking supplements/seed cycling etc like I did with my first so hoping it helps. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I tried to use the the sticks once when trying for my first but like you missed my peak but I don’t think I took that many, only had 5. So I’ve bought a pack of 25 and as they get stronger I’ll do two a day and hopefully get a more accurate ovulation! 🤞🏻

This is a really promising sign though! If no AF yet! So how many DPO are you?
I’m thinking the same as you, I’ve promised myself no tests until 14 DPO this time or if AF arrives. Trying to take the relaxed approach 😂

OP posts:
Bubblesandtroubles · 16/10/2023 16:48

@Mama09876 I'm not 100% sure re DPO- again, it depends which app you look at. Somewhere between 12 and 14 I think- so should definitely show up one way or another on a test by now if I did take one- but that's making me not want to test as there's still a chance if I'm just waiting rather than a negative confirming I'm out, if that makes sense! Xx

Mama09876 · 17/10/2023 10:42

@Bubblesandtroubles that makes sense! But it’s looking good so far if still no sign of AF! Got everything crossed for you! How you feeling today?

OP posts:
Bubblesandtroubles · 17/10/2023 12:25

@Mama09876 I caved and tested yesterday evening. Got a fairly conclusive BFP!
Very surreal! After the last 5/6months (which I realise that's not a long time to some people but it's been an age to me) I felt like I could physically hear my biological clock ticking and had convinced myself it wasn't going to happen! Xx

Mama09876 · 17/10/2023 14:05

@Bubblesandtroubles amazing news!!! Congratulations! It can seem like a life time can’t it, especially cause it’s such a short window to try catch and get pregnant! So happy for you! Here’s to a healthy 9 months!

OP posts:
FigandHoney · 17/10/2023 17:51

Congratulations @Bubblesandtroubles So happy for you. Wishing you 9 uneventful months xx
