Anyone else taking a more relaxed approach to ttc this cycle?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else is taking a more relaxed approach to ttc this cycle?

I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy and I’m about to go onto my third cycle trying since it happened. I’m currently 10dpo and AF is due in the next couple of days and I’m testing negative on early reponse tests so pretty sure she’s coming.

When I fell pregnant the last time we were trying but not tracking anything and we conceived the second cycle of doing that.

Whereas these past two cycles I’ve been driving myself crazy with ovulation testing and neither have been a success despite us getting the right timing.

So this next cycle my plan is to hide the opks away and delete the flo/Premom app so I won’t be tempted to try and use those to see what day of my cycle I’m at 😂My ovulation days the past two cycles have been different so I’ll have no clue what day it will be! Then just go back to trying every 2 to 3 days and see what happens.

Has anyone else had success doing this or planning on doing it this cycle? Support and advice welcomed as I’m sure it’s going to be difficult to resist temptation to test 🙈 x

So sorry for your loss OP. I had a MMC before DS1 and it was such a hard time. We're currently TTC #2 and I too have been guilty of tracking to the point of driving myself slightly insane. We had an early MC last month at just over 5 weeks so this month apart from using OPKs to check when ovulation came back, I haven't really been keeping track anything... I'm in the TWW but I'm not even sure how many dpo I am! Maybe it's self preservation, but I almost don't want to know I just want to see what happens. I'm happy to still track ovulation as I've had 3 pregnancies (one successful) whilst I've been tracking. Who knows, if this month isn't successful I'll probably get back to counting down the slow days to next cycle and spotting for symptoms! Lots of luck to you this cycle x

Sorry for your loss OP, its such a hard time. I had a miscarriage before having my son, and then a chemical pregnancy last month. We've tried again this month but haven't really tracked anything. Just estimated when ovulation may happen but that was it really, just relaxed and didnt put too much pressure on ourselves.

After having the chemical i wasnt that hopeful but not being able to wait even though my period isnt due for another 4 days, i did a test this morning. And we got the shock of our lives!!!

Good luck to you . Wishing you all the best <3 xxxx

Yes I am having a relaxed approach. My period has just ended I have packed away the ovulation kits and quitting having sex everyday. We are going to have sex when we feel like it and take the pressure off. We have been unsuccessful even though we have hit our dates and it really was beating us down. I feel more excited by the relax approach. Please keep me posted on how you get on x

Me! raises hand

We did the whole tracking/ovulation days, etc. for a few months with no success, then my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness, so haven’t actually DTD since April! 😳

He’s doing well and we’re looking to pick up where we left off in the next month or two, but it’s made us realise we don’t want the pressure after everything we’ve been through. Just going to relax and go for it!

I’m in the same boat, I tried to be more ‘relaxed’ last month and not track ovulation (I’m on 9th cycle post tfmr) but I didn’t feel any more relaxed at all not knowing when I was ovulating. So I’m tracking ovulating again and I just don’t know how to not obsess. I’m an impatient person anyway so it’s torture!

@Pandabumbles sorry to hear about your loss and thank you for replying! Wishing you the best of luck this cycle!

@Twdfn123 i’m really sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage and recent chemical that must have been difficult! Congratulations on your pregnancy, sounds like you’ve took the exact route I want to try this cycle so hopefully it’s a success for me too!

@Redheadx wishing you lots of luck for this cycle! I agree it makes you feel so disheartened when you know you’ve hit the right days and still no success 😥let me know how you get on!

@Cheirosa sorry to hear your husband was unwell, glad he’s doing better now! Yeah I’m sure it will feel like a weight has lifted without the pressure, good luck 🤞

@Girlfolk so sorry to hear about your tfmr! Yeah I do fear that I’m not going to feel more relaxed not knowing but we’ll see! I’m also very impatient so this cycle is going to be a hard one for me but hopefully worth it
