Tubal ligation reversal vs IVF?

I’m just looking for some information/advice regarding tubal ligation reversal and IVF. I had the tubal ligation procedure 7 years ago next month. At the time I was married and my husband didn’t want anymore children after my youngest was born and as I’ve always struggled with my body’s reaction to the methods of contraception I had tried it seemed like the right option at the time. However, that marriage didn’t last (infidelity on his part) and I have been with my partner for almost 4 years now and we have discussed having a child together and want to get the ball rolling. My main questions are who do I get in touch with initially? Does anyone who has previously had tubal ligation have any experience or information regarding reversal or whether they chose to go down to route of IVF? Basically any information would be greatly appreciated.

You would probably be best to Google pregnancy success rates for both reversal and IVF for your age group to start with, that may help you decide.

I don’t believe reversal is available on the NHS so you would have to just Google clinics in your area, but some Spire hospitals offer this. A quick Google says the procedure can cost around £4,200 whereas IVF can be £5,000+ medication each cycle. You may need to have an initial consultation for each each option so you can decide what you feel would be best for you.
