Clearblue fertility monitor question

Hello,

I've caved in and bought the clearblue fertility monitor this month. I've read you need to start testing on CD6 but there's a chance it won't actually arrive until my CD7, which would mean I can't even use it until day 8. I'm assuming I can't use it this month - is that right? Wish I'd been more decisive and ordered it sooner!

Most people will ovulate later than that. Peak fertility can still show up right away on the tests anyway so I wouldn’t let that put you off.

@KatieJ345 Thanks for your reply. My cycle seems to vary between 25-28 days and OPKs show positive roughly halfway through. So I'm wondering if it's best to wait for next cycle as the sticks are so bloody expensive!

I started mine 2 days after suggested, I completely forgot to take them as I usually test later in the day. I got a few days of circles, a few of flashing smileys & today got my static smiley so it still seemed to work out OK

@ReginaPhalange12 Hiya, just to check it's definitely the Clearblue advanced fertility monitor you used? Thank you 😊

@secondtimelucky87 apologies, I thought you were talking about the advanced digital OT 🤦🏽‍♀️

secondtimelucky87 · 09/09/2023 10:01

No problem at all. Just wanted to check and appreciate your reply anyway 😊

Just a bump in case anyone else has had any experience. Pretty sure it's arriving tomorrow which is CD7 for me and obviously can't start using until morning which is day 8. Last day of my period today. Should I wait for next cycle? (Obviously hoping it won't be needed)!

I wouldn't! This happened to me and my first month of clearblue was just a whole bunch of highs from cd8 as apparently it gets to know your cycle! this month i'm CD11 and am still on "low" - whcih i would expect as i ovulate around CD19

So i would just say your period started a day later and get started, as you don't want to wait a month to have a tracking month.

Hi, how did you get on with it in the end? I’ve just started using it, so far it seems to match up with when my app thinks I should be ovulating

Optimistic66 · 04/01/2024 15:26

@Em39al It didn’t work for me but I think i don’t ovulate so am having to go privately!! However i heard it worked for so many! wishing baby dust for you xx

PointyMcguire · 04/01/2024 15:31

@Em39al we fell pregnant the first and fourth cycle of using it. Sadly the first time resulted in an early miscarriage, but the 2nd pregnancy turned into our beautiful DD who has just turned 1. I’ve just popped new batteries in mine so we can begin tracking before trying for number 2 😬

Hiya, it's good and matches up to my OPKs so it works. However we sadly found out we have some male factor fertility issues this time around (I have a 2 year old) so have been working through these while we continue TTC. Hopefully will get there eventually with having another baby.

I would say try to get the monitor second hand if you can as they're very expensive and similarly the refill sticks are £40 a pack! I got mine on ebay and it works fine.

All the best to you 😊

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage and all the best with TTC your second.

I find it so hard to summon up the energy for BD with a toddler! We've managed cycle day 9, then my two fertility monitor peak days this cycle (day before ovulation and ovulation day according to apps and other OPKs) and I'm shattered 🤣
