Positive OPKs for a couple of days, when am I likely to have ovulated?

I have been reading online and seem to find conflicting information. This is my first month using opks and I expected a spike and drop
within the same day but it appears they’ve been positive for about 3 days. When would I calculate ovulation from? Would it be the 1st positive, the peak, or the last one before it drops? Premom has ovulation as CD13.

I know temping would give me a better idea of when I ovulate but I keep forgetting to do it as soon as I wake up and my results end up being all
over the place. I’ll try again with temping next cycle.

my cycles are 28-32 days, so I am 3 days away from a 28 day cycle. I’ve had BFNs so am I likely to be out this month, I am just wanting to be able to better understand the results next cycle. I don’t get any ovulation symptoms so can’t really use symptoms to help.

Hi @Dan521 it looks like the Premom app is correct and ovulation day would have been cd13 the day after the peak. (That was a really strong peak 👌) Some people's LH drops after a few hours but for others it's a day or 2. They seem like really good numbers, and although still high for a few days it definitely dropped so I would 100% say day 13. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I'd also say CD13!

Thank you, I’ve read so many different things one saying the first positive is when you would calculate from, another saying the peak and another saying the last positive. Im just wanting to figure out how many dpo I am and understand my cycles better. I’m testing from start to finish this first cycle to see what goes on, I’ve had a pretty dark opk today, although not quite positive. I’ve read there can be another surge leading up to af.

I’ve continued testing through out my cycle out of curiosity. It was a 28 day cycle and then period was around 3-4 days. I just keep getting random positive opks. I’ve read there can be a surge around AF but they went light again.

According to Premom I peaked this cycle on CD8 ovulation will be cd9. This doesn’t seem right.

Hi @Dan521 I'm having the same issue with my premoms this cycle. It says I peaked on day 9 but I knew it couldn't be right so I went and got a clearblue today CD 12 and I got smiley face to suggest peak today which would usually be right as it's usually around day 12 so I think I might have got a dodgy batch (I've noticed the control line on my batch is quite light too) so I'd suggest keep testing but listen to your body too

I’ve dtd just incase and will continue to test as the days go on, see if another peak happens. When I first started using these I thought it would just be straight forward and I would get one obvious positive. It’s been so confusing. I’ve done some more tests since then and they’ve been quite dark still.

I’ve had positive opks from cd8-cd11 and according to premom I ovulated cd9. My cycles are usually 28-32 days, sometimes a little later but af has never arrived earlier so cd9 doesn’t seem right.

I am now cd12 and they’ve gone really faint. Been dtd every other day just incase and will continue to test throughout the cycle incase it there is another surge/peak. I don’t really get symptoms of ovulation so it’s difficult for me to track that way. I felt a bit crampy yesterday and slightly tender boobs today but opks are negative.

I’m just updating for any future readers in this situation. Drives me mad reading threads and there being no update at the end 🙈

I’ve had a peak today at cd14

I am still none the wiser 😑 I have had positive opks more often than not this cycle. Pretty much every day minus the odd few days.

had my highest peak on CD14 and then EWCM and severe cramps on CD16 so I guess that’s the most likely time of ovulation.

I am now CD18 (potentially 2dpo) and still getting positive opks as well as faint lines on HCG tests for the past few days. Although I don’t trust these hcg tests, they’re known for false positives. I’ve just used them out of curiosity because I have them spare, they come in the pack with the opks.

@Dan521 have you tried a different hcg test? It might be worth getting a boots tests or something as sometimes high LH can be an indicator of hcg. I'm also having a very strange cycle with opks. I always ovulate around day 12-14 and have 23-27 day cycles. I'm 8dpo today and AF due in 2 days but I'm after peaking on opk (hcg is neg) so now I think I'm back to tww again 🥴

@Sez281 I done a boots test yesterday it was negative. Last month I was getting faint lines
on both boots and easy@home and positive opk around 8dpo and for a few days after but AF then arrived on time so could have potentially been a CP.

these lines on the hcg are darker than they were last month but boots test yesterday was bfn. It’s probably too early for any test to show positive but I can’t be certain exactly when I ovulated.

@Dan521 it's very frustrating isn't it. The fact that you were positive on different brands last cycle does sound like a CP so maybe that's why your LH is so confusing. I guess all you can do is keep testing. Fingers crossed you do get a proper BFP 🤞
