10 DPO and BFN this morning and yesterday. I’m hopeful that I’m still not out.

Hi @Cressie2
I had a bfn at 11dpo then got a bfp at 12dpo.
Hope you get your bfp hun xx

The egg reaches the uterus at 5dpo and can then take 2-4 days to fully implant. Once implanted, your body releases the HCG hormone and after 2 days, early detection tests will give you a faint positive.
10dpo is still considered very early to test. 12dpo onwards with a decent early detection test should give you a more accurate answer.

I just found out I’m pregnant but the first test I did was negative I think it was 9 or 10 DPO. First day of missed period it was positive

Redheadx · 04/09/2023 09:16

I am 14 DPO with terrible cramps and VVFL at 11/12 DPO. Waiting on AF. Your not out until AF comes

Redheadx · 04/09/2023 09:17

Did you test everyday or did you not test again until after your missed period?

lenalove · 04/09/2023 12:15

I had BFNs at 10DPO and 11DPO followed by a faint line at 12DPO - now at 6w!

Plumful · 04/09/2023 13:18

Tbh I think this just shows it’s silly testing early a lot of the time 🤣 even though I did myself, it’s just a waste of a test most of the time you end up having to re-test…. They are expensive too.

lenalove · 04/09/2023 13:57

I second what @Plumful put above! Also, I wouldn't waste money on clearblue tests early on, they don't detect as early and are much more confusing to read than red line tests!

Redheadx · 04/09/2023 14:05

When would you recommend testing ? Some day 10BFO is too early but then others say 13BFO is too late and should be positive? It’s very confusing

Lulubo1 · 04/09/2023 14:25

I had a BFN at 10dpo and faint line at 11DPO. DD is 14mo now. Although, I was pregnant with twins, (but lost one as pregnancy progressed) so that may be why I had a faint line so early. Next pregnancy I won't waste my money on early tests. I did so many and it's not cheap.

lenalove · 04/09/2023 14:43

@Redheadx early detection red line tests are the most sensitive on market I think and that is what picked up my faint BFP at 12DPO. Absolutely nothing picked up on an early detection clearblue at 11DPO so I assume hormone levels weren't high enough at that point for the lower sensitivity of their tests.

Although it's sooo hard waiting, I do think it is generally safer to wait until day of (missed) AF as it eliminates the confusion! If you really do want to test early, I would recommend the red line tests - from what I have heard, most people seem to get a BFP on them by 12/13DPO but tbh you are not out until AF comes. Hope all turns out ok for you x

Absolutely this.

First Response Early Response are the best at detecting early but even they need HCG of around 10 to detect a pregnancy. Your HCG might not reach 10 until 12 - 14dpo.

If you have a POAS addiction, by a bunch of the One Step strip tests from Amazon. They cost around 20p a test compared to £5 for a FRER.

Cressie2 · 04/09/2023 17:29

Thanks all. Haven’t FRER been discontinued from all British shops now?

WutheringMights · 04/09/2023 20:04

@Cressie2 have they been discontinued? It's a shame if they have - they were the only ones I found to be the most accurate early on.

Cressie2 · 06/09/2023 06:44

BFN at 12DPO. Still hoping for a miracle!

Bex4567 · 01/11/2023 15:08

10dpo today and bfn this morning but today have been really crampy and lower back pain...could it be implantation at 10dpo

Cressie2 · 01/11/2023 20:21

Me too @Bex4567 ! Hoping it’s implantation but maybe AF on the way- due Saturday :(
