Hi ladies I’m due to start my second cycle of letrozole and on my letter from the clinic it says to take on day 2 of my cycle, day 1 being full flow and if it starts after 5pm count the next day as day 1..

Yesterday I was coming on as I felt my cramps when I checked my pad at around 4pm it was light spotting on the pad but when I wiped I could see more of it, I was out for a few hours so couldn’t check again if it was still light at 5pm but when I came home and changed my pad I could see my full flow did start. Now I don’t know whether to count it as today as day 1 cause it seems though full flow started after 5 or do I count it as yesterday as there was still blood there?

Sorry if this post is coming across a bit dumb but I just want to ensure I’m doing it right and starting my tablet on the right day, would appreciate your insight xx

Hi @Gkb90, just about to start my first letrozole cycle. I wouldn't get too caught up in the before / after 5pm; it sounds like a slightly arbitrary time as they need to give something to go by. If my full flow was in full swing before bedtime that night, I'd consider it day 1. Just an opinion but hope it helps - and best of luck to you!

@MotherOfShihTzus thank you for letting me know, I was thinking the same to just count yesterday as day 1. My first cycle on letrozole wasn’t as complicated as to deciding what day I’ve come on because of the timings 😂 definitely think it confuses us more when they give us a cut off time.
Good luck with your first cycle of letrozole! X
