1 day before period came - could I be pregnant?

Hi,

I had unprotected sex on 8th Aug and had my period as normal 9th Aug. I now have sore breasts, headache, nausea etc but wonder if I'm just symptom spotting and my mind is tricking me.

My cycle is usually quite long between 35-41 days and tracked through the flo app.

Has anyone else actually got pregnant 1 day before period and if so, how does it work with dates usually in this case?

Thanks!

I don’t think impossible but unlikely that you would ovulate that close to your period.

You can ovulate during a period, so it’s not impossible.

Are you on any contraception

Mummyof3girls23 · 27/08/2023 22:04

No, I came off everything about 18 months ago to try regulate my hormones myself with diet/supplements.

You had unprotected sex - of course there's a chance you could be pregnant

Is it likely? No
Is it possible? Yes

I'd love to know the outcome of this because I had sex and my period came the day after. We joked that he induced my period. My periods last 3ish days usually. As I'm tracking when I enter my fertile window I did an ovulation test the day after my period finished and it was negative, so I had not entered my fertile window.

The day after, I did another ovulation test and it totally skipped ovulation window and was at peak fertility. This has happened once before while tracking ovulation the past 6 months.

Basically here are the dates:

6th May - Sex
7th May - Period started
9th May - Period finished
10th May - Negative ovulation test (CB & Strip)
11th May - Positive & peak fertility (CB & strip test)

We didn't have sex again as on the Friday I was away with friends so didn't have the chance to do the deed again this cycle!!

@RoseWinter Definitely not pregnant. 6-7 days before ovulation is too long for sperm to survive and having a full period in between I would imagine the semen got flushed out as well.
