So first time using opks and I've been logging the strips on the Premom app and going off the T/C ratio number as to when I'm going to ovulate or near my peak.
But, on looking at the actual lines I think I may have peaked around CD 12?!
If I wasn't using the app with it generating its own numbers I would have said that Cd 12 was my darkest and I've already ovulated?
So confused!

Looking at the strips it doesn't look like you have ovulated yet? None are darker or as dark as the control line. They all look very light and I would agree with the numbers next to the strips as being accurate on them.

I've attached 2 pictures of peak lh testing ive had with dark lines. The April one was the cycle I got pregnant, unfortunately ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks.

Are you particularly hydrated when taking the test or not having a urine hold before?

Sometimes the surge can occur extremely quickly. I basically have no 2nd line at all, until 1-2 days before. Once it looks like your day 11 I basically test at every pee - if I didn't I'd miss the peak, it drops right down so quick.

Burpcloth · 27/08/2023 18:09

To add however: I have regular cycles, and my bbt indicates ovulation has occurred.

None of those are positive ovulation results, the line needs to be either equally as dark or darker than the control line

It looks like the app on your "peak" test has read the control line as your test line and the ridge on the test as the control line. 4.2 would be extremely high t/c! I've had to retake the photo a few times on mine when it's come up with an extraordinary result like that.

Best of luck!

id say maybe day 12 was peak, my lines were never that dark (looked like yours) but I got pregnant from DTD the day that Premom app said was the highest ratio. I peak day 18 usually though

Ah this is really helpful thank you!
I'm so new to this I never opk with my first bond but I had an ectopic with tube removal in March so first month of trying to conceive again I want to give myself the best chance.
So 4.2 is like crazy off?!
What sort of peak would I be looking at? X

Hi OP, I’d carry on with the OPKs until you got a line that is as dark or darker than the control as none of these are positive. Make sure you’ve got some good concentrated urine when you do them.
I’m TTC my second baby and have had three previous pregnancies, I usually ovulate around day 20-21 and use pre mom app. I’ve attached a pic of mine so you can see the peak.

Also ignore the timings, I was in the US on holiday on that cycle and seems the time zone has messed up the time stamps, I was not testing at 2am.

Sorry to hear about your ectopic, I hope you recovered quickly. Yes, a 4.2 would mean that your test is 4.2x the strength of the control line, so unless it's mega dark, the app has misread it!

My personal peak on the tests I've been using read at 0.76 using cheapies off Amazon (which don't seem very sensitive, ha), my basal temp shot up after so that confirmed it.

I'd say your peak was likely CD12, as peak should be your most positive result I believe. it can be really useful to track your basal temperature to confirm ovulation too :)

I would also keep testing, my ovulation was quite late a few months back and was getting worried that I wasn't ovulating at all that month as it wasn't within my usual timeframe - appeared a couple of days later! If the line isn't as dark as, or darker than the control line, then you haven't ovulated yet. 4.2 is an insane number!!
