Hi ladies,

would be nice to get to know a few of you and have this journey a little easier with some company :)
This is our 3rd cycle ttc for DC 3
First cycle I was really chilled about it to the point that I completely missed ovulation so decided to use opk the second month and went a little crazy with it!
I think this month I will also do BBT, what’s your experiences with this as I didn’t do this when TTC before.
I would love to hear from some of you x

Welcome to the journey 😀

I've been TTC on and off for for quite a while (first with my ex for 2.5years ended in miscarriage and then more recently 2nd time round with my current partner took 6 months and also ended in miscarriage).

This is now day 13 of cycle 1 of trying again since the second loss. Feeling optimistic I'll be pregnant again in the next 6 months or so and trying not to obsess over it as I did that with my ex and just ended up miserable!

moosey89 · 26/08/2023 21:35

Oh should say I've never done bbt, scientifically opks have a better proven success rate but there's tons of women on here who do use bbt successfully 😊

Rightnow1245 · 26/08/2023 22:41

Hi @moosey89
Thanks for reaching out, I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriages and your ttc journey doesn’t easy, lots of baby dust on this thread!
oh really I didn’t know that opk were proven to be better, I just think i choose opks because they seem easier 🤦‍♀️
Are you doing opk then?

OP posts:
moosey89 · 27/08/2023 08:13

@Rightnow1245 thank you - yes all the baby dust here! 😁
Yep I'm using opks, we're not a couple that has sex every day haha so I always want to make sure we get the most important days, feels less like I'm worrying about "what if" then. And I agree they seem easier, I don't always wake up at the same time, or have to get up to sort the dog etc and would forget to take it before I do anything else. So I find opks suit me better anyway 😊

Rightnow1245 · 27/08/2023 17:30

@moosey89 oh yeah I totally get what you mean about doing it on the most important days.. last month we did it leading up to ovulation day but couldn’t manage it on the day as it just felt so forced lol.. this time I think I’m going to try and plan it better! Is your cycle pretty regular? X

OP posts:
moosey89 · 27/08/2023 22:21

@Rightnow1245 yeah I'm really lucky, they're usually 27-29 days consistently. How about you?x

Rightnow1245 · 28/08/2023 09:09

I also have very regularly periods around 28days last month was text book really ovulated on CD14 and AF showed 14 after ovulation.. when I had my boys and was ttc it was very different.. not sure why it’s changed so much but it’s easier to know what’s going on! Have you had your peak on a opk yet? X

OP posts:
moosey89 · 28/08/2023 12:53

That's good! Yep, day 14 yesterday was O-day haha so now I'm back into the 2 week wait yet again. I don't expect to get lucky first month of trying post miscarriage, but there's always a chance so you never know!x

Rightnow1245 · 28/08/2023 17:09

Yeah you’re defo in with a chance, I’ve heard you’re more fertile after an MC but maybe that’s just a myth I haven’t done research on that! When do you usually test after ovulation?

OP posts:
moosey89 · 28/08/2023 17:57

I've heard that too - not sure how true it is but let's hope! Do you mean pregnancy tests? I tend to wait until my period is due as I get really down seeing negatives. How about you?x

Rightnow1245 · 28/08/2023 19:39

My friend did get pregnant straight after her mc 🙏 oh yeah sorry wasn’t very clear yeah I get what you mean, last month I got super disappointed so I think I might do the same… I’ve still only cd4 so nowhere close to ovulation yet.. we’re going away over ovulation with the kids so hopefully that’s a little bit of a distraction x

OP posts:
moosey89 · 28/08/2023 19:59

Distraction is always good! How long did it take you to get pregnant with your kids before? I still haven't got kids but feels like the time is right now so 🤞 x

Rightnow1245 · 28/08/2023 22:12

I’m sure it will happen for both of us soon 🥰 with my DS1 it was first cycle then Ds2 it was 2nd cycle so hopefully ds3 is 3rd cycle 🤔

Checking in. Fourth cycle TTC. 10 DPO should be Monday 4th September so still a week away before I can begin to test. It's such a long road.

Rightnow1245 · 30/08/2023 06:48

Hi @slowsundays welcome 🤗
It’s really hard ttc isn’t, no one tells you that you can become obsessed with it!
how are you feeling this month? You’re so good for next testing early.. i still have ages until ovulation and getting impatient but on the other hand my husband has just had an operation on his knee so probably good timing that AF is here atm x

OP posts:
slowsundays · 03/09/2023 20:20

Couldn't hold out. Just took an early detection test and have a faint positive (with colour)!

Going to get some more tests in the morning to double check this isn't some trick.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 03/09/2023 21:39

Exciting @slowsundays, I hope it's positive for you!

Also checking in. We're trying for no2 but I still nurse my first, so my periods only returned a few months ago and have been fairly irregular. However, I'm actually on day 40 of my cycle now, which is the longest it's been. Neither of us can remember when we DTD this month so I'm holding out a bit longer to see if AF shows up! This is also our first cycle of trying. We conceived our first first time round, and I'm not sure I believe we could be so lucky again (but here's hoping). I am having some symptoms but they mimic PMS symptoms. I had a false negative test with my first so don't want to repeat that!

Best of luck to you all. I always think it's mad coming on the conception board and seeing how many people are trying at once.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 03/09/2023 21:41

Just saw the 'CD2' part of the thread title, oops! Perhaps I need one for obscenely long cycles!

slowsundays · 03/09/2023 22:55

9 DPO Grin

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 04/09/2023 08:05

Oh wow that’s lovely news, congratulations @slowsundays!

moosey89 · 04/09/2023 08:46

Congratulations @slowsundays ! Did you have any symptoms or just couldn't wait any longer to test? 😁

slowsundays · 04/09/2023 09:16

None of my usual symptoms when I'm pregnant, strangely! Maybe it's a DS! Grin

I woke up from a four hour nap (highly unusual), had dinner, sat on the toilet and thought 'that's weird, what harm could it do to get another negative?' and tested!

Rightnow1245 · 05/09/2023 12:53

Congratulations s@slowsundays that’s great news :)

so have a little question for anyone who has been doing OPK for a while and tracking… last cycle I was text book really I ovulated on cd14 and Af showed 14 days after that.
This cycle I got a positive opk today at cd12 days this seems early? I know it doesn’t mean I’ve ovulated but it is a little early to get a positive OpK.

OP posts:
moosey89 · 05/09/2023 14:05

@Rightnow1245 you ovulate around 24hrs after your positive opk, so you might just be ovulating one day earlier this month x

Rightnow1245 · 05/09/2023 16:22

Lucky we DtD last night then 😂 was really expecting it yet! @moosey89 how you getting on? X
