Hello all me and my partner have been trying to conceive for over 2 years I’m only 23 but he is in his 30s I have had my bloods done to check my hormones and it is “normal” and he has done a sperm test at home and has come back normal .
I know people have been trying for a lot longer but personally for me it’s making me depressed as my partner is older then me , my cycles are quite irregular 25-40 days I will end up going and seeing the doctor again just wanted to see what helped any of yous in the meantime
thankyou xx

OPK tests, and a shed load of vitamins worked for us after I read 'lt starts with the egg'.

I took a high vitamin D, Coq10, a high vitamin c, omega 3 as well as the conception multivits.

Just really, really great sex. The best you can have.

Ah ok thanks 😁

I found once I started acupuncture/reflexology I got pregnant almost immediately after 7/8/9 cycles trying. 4 times.

Also, progesterone cream worked and I used a device called Ovusense to pinpoint ovulation. I tracked ovulation this way for 3 or 4 cycles then didn't use it the cycle I did get pregnant which was the following one

@seven201 I can relate! Was laying floor insulation the week before I gave birth and 3 months later still don't have a kitchen. But you deal with it and it will all be worth it!

@Sazxo lots of love to you, it can be really tough when you just keep trying and not getting anywhere. But try not to worry. We also tried for over two years but I'm much older than you. I would be asking your gp for more tests, or go private if you have the means. Eventually I think I kinda gave up, started a new side hustle, a house extension and finally it happened.

Personally I hated ovulation testing, I never got a strong positive despite having scans that showed I was ovulating, so it just was just a bit depressing. But I did take my basal body temp daily and feel that helped me without focusing on conceiving too much.

Fingers crossed for you for some positive news soon.

Thankyou for your kindness i will talk to my gp about further tests I just am paranoid there’s something wrong even though I know It can take people years x

Please try not to worry. Chances are, you've just been unlucky, and it will all be fine. A few more tests couldn't hurt, if possible.

The good thing is, you have age on your side - I was 15 years older than you when I started trying! I'm sure that's not going to make you feel better right now, but you have every chance to conceive and start your family x

What I'm taking from this thread is that different things work for different people 😁Because my other half can't finish from sex, I have to track using opks so we can do home artificial insemination. I got pregnant after 3 months by tracking, sadly ended in mmc and this is now my first cycle trying again!

Thankyou for your advise xx

@Sazxo just want to share some love. I've been ttc for 22 months and its absolutely horrific. I bet you're doing everything right because I know we are too - it's just not working. Definitely speak to your GP and get referred. Big hugs!

My husband and I tried for nearly 2 years, and I swear in the end it was us both taking Impryl (fertility medication) that did the trick.

It vastly improves sperm and egg quality.

genesis92 · 28/08/2023 21:02

Have you had your AMH (egg count) checked? I'm sure yours is fine as you're very young but it's always good to do. You can buy a Superdrug test kit and do it at home. It's also definitely worth getting your partners sperm tested now - especially as you've been trying for 2 years. You only need to be trying for a year without success to be referred to a fertility clinic
