Premom puts me at 12DPO and my period is due in 2-3 days. I did an easy@home test with my first wee this morning and this was the result. I think I can see a pink line where the test result should be, but I'd love a second opinion! What do you think?

@Rosieposie0301 congratulations to you too! What do we now?! 😆 Have you told your GP yet? I'm going on holiday this Sunday so I'm now googling anything and everything relevant to travel/food.

This gives me a little hope. Im 10 DPO today and did a test this morning (I know its early) but BFN!

Congratulations!!!!! 🥰🥰

Rosieposie0301 · 09/08/2023 23:01

@teacup35 i rang my gp and they said you just do a self referral form at 8weeks now to whichever hospital you want your appointments at! im in N Ireland though so not sure if rules are diff compared to mainland UK!
with my first I was all about googling stuff to do with food etc whereas this time I’m much more chilled. I don’t even feel pregnant! So weird. With my daughter who is now 3.5 I had such horrible cramps at 4-5 weeks and my boobs were so sore too whereas this time I’ve nothing! Just bloat

@Rosieposie0301 thank you. This is our first, so I just want to get everything right! ☺️ I haven't had any real symptoms either. I got a clear BFN at 10DPO @RCARB - I had plans for a pre-Barbie cocktail, I only had the one anyway - thank goodness - so you might still be in with a chance. 🤞This morning, I woke up to the distinct smell of poo - farmers had sprayed the nearby fields overnight. My husband didn't notice it until he went outside, but for me, it smelt like the source of the smell was right there in the room. Given that our windows were closed all night I figured my sense of smell was particularly heightened; so I tested again out of curiosity. I couldn't believe it when the colour began to gather earlier down the test strip. I've been grinning all day!

As it turns out, yes, it was too early to be excited. I started cramping and spotting a couple of days into our holiday and light pink sporadic spots gradually turned into a bright red continuous bleed. My symptoms slowly faded and two tests have since shown a BFN.

It's been an isolating experience, having miscarried abroad with no phone signal to scour Mumsnet or Google for advice. I found pads at a local supermarket and got on with things the best I knew how. I didn't alert the ship's doctor as I didn't want to be sent to a local hospital - I hadn't mentioned pregnancy on my insurance as we found out so soon before departing.

We landed in the UK about an hour a go and I'm no longer bleeding and have no cramps. Do I need to tell my doctor about this given that it was so early - almost 5weeks? Thanks I'm advance if anyone is still here xx

@teacup35 I'm so sorry to hear that. It's rotten, and so unfair and scary that it happened on your holiday. I hope you and your DH are able to take another trip that you can actually enjoy when you're ready.

Yes, I would go to the GP and tell them. It's possible you'll be referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital. If so, they may want to scan you, but possibly not given it was early, you had a bleed that's now stopped, and you're showing negative tests. Horrible to say it but it's always important to go to the doctor after a miscarriage, even if they can't practically do anything for you. That's because it's helpful to have any loss appear on your medical record. If, god forbid, you suffer recurrent losses, you are in better shape to get the support/tests you might need.

LolaBumble · 21/08/2023 17:02

So so sorry for your loss 😔💕 it is so unfair.

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks, I don’t think the GP will do anything for you if your tests are now negative, they didn’t for me, but I agree it may be worth having it on your record!

For myself I actually wished it wasn’t on my record though, my miscarriage happened after 1 year of trying and in my area you don’t qualify for IVF until 3 years post miscarriage!
