Can breastfeeding effect ovulation even after return of period?

Hey everyone so I have ebf my daughter since birth. At 19 months I cut down to just once before bed, then 1 month later I got my period. I'm on day 17 and still getting negative ovulation tests. Before I got pregnant my periods would range from 33-39 days .
Is it possible for breastfeeding to effect ovulation? I'm still only feeding her once before bed.

In theory yes. It can take a little while for things to settle again after returning.

Yes I think it can. I had cut down 20 month old to 1 evening feed and got my cycle back. It was 30 days for 3 months and then she got a sickness bug and wanted feeding a few more times in the day. That month I must have ovulated 2 weeks later as I caught preg when I thought my fertile window had passed!! Obviously we were not really preventing as this is not a reliable form of birth control but I was caught off guard!

Thanks for the replies!
I really want to try for baby number 2 but don't really want to have to complete give up breastfeeding if I can help it.
