When did I ovulate - help!! :’(

I have no idea when I ovulated and therefore do not know what DPO I am on…

I tend to have 28 day cycles but sometimes up to 31 days. My last cycle was 31 days, the cycle before was 28.

My LMP was 9th July, Flo app has put my ovulation day as 23rd July (the typical 14 days) I have only logged 2 cycles.

I tried ovulation testing for the first time this month, I kept getting fairly dark lines but none appeared to be fully positive. Some days I only tested once per day, i am aware I may have missed the peak.

I don’t get a lot of EGCM or ovulation symptoms but I did notice a small amount of EWCM on 20th July, I also had a chin spot on this day and a really high sex drive. (I don’t tend to get ovulation cramps or any other symptoms) this date obviously doesn’t coincide with the ovulation day of the Flo app or OPK tests.

The photo attached is probably the darkest the OPK I ever got (I didn’t do any more id given up by this point because I thought I’d already ovulated) this test was on 25th July which again doesn’t coincide with symptoms or Flo app prediction. But it would be 15 days before AF if I was to have a 31 day cycle, which would mean if I ovulated 24 hours later it would be a 14 day luteal phase. Does the test look positive?

I feel like I have multiple pregnancy symptoms and feel exactly as I did with previous pregnancies.. bloated, vivid dreams, sore breasts (I don’t get sore breasts with AF), exhaustion where I’m taking naps in the day, frequent urination, agitation and mood swings, and popcorn smelling wee which was a tell tale sign in previous pregnancies.

I have done an early result pregnancy test today but it was BFN. Is any one able to tell me when I am most likely to have ovulated?

Also, it appears FRER tests are no longer available. I’ve always considered these most reliable. Is there another test someone can recommend.

@HopefullMumto4 I’ve done another test since then and it was complete bfn. I’m not holding much hope at this point, just waiting for AF to arrive now.

It wasn’t really an issue for me waiting for ovulation because it was my first month, This tww has opened up a whole new world for me and it has consumed me. I can’t be obsessing the way I have this month every month. I think I will just try and forget about it and leave it to nature in future.

I’ve had a word with myself these past few days 😂 I’ve had to sit down and ask myself are these symptoms real or is my brain tricking my body, or do I get them every month and just didn’t notice. I swear my partner thinks I’m having an affair because I’m constantly on my phone but I’m really just reading mumsnet threads and googling stuff and don’t want him to know I’ve turned into a crazy ttc woman 🙈

AF would be due today if I was on a 28 day cycle. No sign of it yet, the cramping has stopped. I did have ewcm earlier when I wiped, which had a small amount of streaks of red blood in. This is not something I’ve ever noticed before. There has been nothing since.

Have you done any more tests?

@HopefullMumto4 i done a clear blue early detection this morning because I had one lying around (I don’t trust them unless it’s a strong positive) and it give an evap line. I then done a clear and simple early detection which was negative. I think regardless of when I ovulated it would be showing something on an early detection test by now. I know some people don’t get a bfp until after af is due but I feel like it would be unlikely and I’d just be clutching at straws clinging to that hope.

It’s only the first month of trying. i just need to figure out exactly when I ovulate in future so I know where I’m up to in the tww

Working out ovulation stresses me out way more than the TWW 🙈 I know I'm super close now but not quite and it's driving me mad.

is it not around the same day each month roughly? Do you do temping? I think I’m going to try that this month along with opks

I am yet to deal with working out ovulation 😭 I tried opk sticks this month but didn’t really know what I was doing so it was a bit of a half arse attempt. I naively assumed that because I’ve been pregnant so many times previously without trying it would just happen first go and be easy 🙈

I am going to try and determine ovulation day this month but other than that I’m going to just try and chill and see what happens. Easier said than done though I’ll prob be back on here next month 😂

It is, but this is my first time tracking in about 7 years. We just winged it with my last baby and fell straight away.

I'm not sure why I decided to go hard this time with temping, IC OPKs and CB Digi OPKs 🤣

I'm still naively thinking as I fell easily before it will happen again. I'm sure my bubble will be rudely burst soon

I keep symptom spotting and I swear I don’t get these symptoms before af usually, I’m sat here questioning my sanity 😂 I’ve got sharp pains in my nipples right now. I don’t usually get sore before af but when they’ve been sore when I’ve been pregnant they’ve felt more bruised that sharp pains.

I’ve been logging the symptoms in my app so I can look back next month and match them instead of questioning my sanity.

Testing drove we mad after several months so I stopped them completely and started listening to my body. I realised I get aroused and want sex around my ovulation so I used that as an Indication to seduce my husband and it worked.

There was one night when I was really aroused, more than usually. It was the evening I also had ewcm so I thought that was ovulation day. The opks said otherwise 🙈 and my af would have arrived today if that was ovulation day. I guess It might take me a few months to figure out my body 😂. I defiantly won’t be testing so much next month though and will try to chill
out during the tww.

Next time you feel that, worth using it as I honestly think that gives results.

@Olika thank you, I did dtd that day and the days prior and afterwards. Today would be 14 days from that day. Opks that day were quite faint, I had a darker result although still not quite positive a few days later.

No sign of Af as of yet. I haven’t done any more tests, I only have one left and I am reluctant to buy any more this month. If af hasn’t shown up by the end of the week I’ll do the test. I expect af
to have arrived by Thursday though. This must have been one of my longer cycles which means I likely ovulated later than expected. I last dtd during the fertile period 13 days ago on the 25th July. It could be the case that I have ovulated later than I thought and didn’t dtd at the right time. Lesson learned for next time 🙈

Maybe the act of refusing to buy a test will do the job! I bought a test on holiday last cycle and then came on my period the next day 🙄

I can see my af ending up being about 2 weeks late for the first time in my life and me stressing the whole time and it not resulting in a bfp 🙈 that would be just my luck.

This actually was what I did when I finally got pregnant. 😂 every month I would test and waste money. Then I didn't buy even though my periods were late. Waited a week and finally tested after the weekend and it was positive.

@Olika that's some strong will power! I only lasted 3 days in before cracking and finding a test 🙈

I’ve downloaded the fertility friend app and starting taking and recording my temp so I can compare to next month around when AF is due. It’s been around 36.7-37 so far, I have read that there is a temp drop just before AF. The thermometer is a bit rubbish though, I have a better one coming tomorrow.

judging by the fact that my af has still not arrived, I can only assume I must have ovulated just after that opk was getting darker and may have missed dtd around that time. We dtd so much the week prior the poor soul had nothing left to give and we were knackered by that point and needed over a week off. Feel like he only wants to know me when I’m fertile 😂

Still no AF @Dan521? Hahaha well you never know now if he left enough behind some may have been swimming around waiting for the later ovulation.

I use fertility friend too but my kids are early birds and absolutely refuse to let me have a regular wake up schedule my temps are all over the place with up and down triangles rather than lovely circles. I also couldn't find my BBT anywhere and had to order a new one so didn't start temping until I think cd6

nope still no af for me. I don’t really get any signs that it’s coming either it just hits me like an oncoming train and the cramps come with a vengeance once af has started.

I keep forgetting temp in the mornings and the thermometer is a cheap basic one so mine are probably not very accurate, the better thermometer should be coming today.

I caved and done the last test last night. It was the clear and simple early detection. The dye took over an hour to fully run through but the end result was a BFN.

I do have a clear blue digital which was part of the three pack but I am not going to waste that unless I had a line on something else. The other two tests that come with the three pack were the early detection ones. Both resulted in evap lines (they’re much clearer in real life). I can’t believe how bad those tests are for evaps, every one of them that I’ve done has had an evap.

I think even if I ovulated late it would be showing on an early test by now.

the test on its own was within the time frame. The pic with two on were how they looked 30mins to an hour after. I don’t trust them at all. i only bought them because it was all that was available in the shop and I thought If it is a solid clear line then I’ll take it as a positive, but it wasn’t.

my partner believes his swimmers aren’t great based on the fact that he’s been in long term relationships in the past and although he’s never actively tried for a baby he’s had unprotected sex many times over those years and never conceived.

I am sure I have a box of cheap strips somewhere I’ll probably end up ripping the house apart at some point looking for them because i am determined not to buy any more tests 😂

Woah those evaps are awful! I've seen quite a few CB ones with evaps lately that are so convincing.

Ahh he definitely doesn't need to go to thinking that already! It's only been a month!

Still no af for me.. 😑 I just want to get cracking with my next cycle now
