Positive Clear and Simple but dates don’t make sense!

Hi! I’m new here and have no idea the correct terminology or how it works haha! But basically I have just taken Clear and Simple pregnancy test which came up positive in less than 1 minute. (I took one last night too and was convinced I saw the faintest line but my partner saw nothing). Anyhow it honestly doesn’t make any sense based on my cycle. I am on day 21 and according to my flo app I’m 7 dpo. My cycles are pretty regular between 30-34 days but it should be noted that I have PCOS and endometriosis.
The only reason I wondered if I was pregnant was because I’ve had some very light spotting which is totally new for me, although it is also a symptom of endo.
I’m so beyond confused. I know some ovarian cysts can create false positives but my latest ultrasound showed no cysts just endo regrowth! We are going to get a digital tonight but I just want some other opinions!? Are false positives common with C&S / in general? Or is this defo a positive test?

Also just another thing I don’t know if it’s relevant but when I used the test my urine stream was super strong and I’m wondering if maybe it collected too much wee and this might case false positives?

A flooded test can give a false positive. Maybe collect in a cup and dip a test in to be sure?

okay thank you! I have in the past flooded tests as wee got in the window, this didn’t actually happen this time but is there still such a thing as too much wee then?

That looks very positive to me. I’m in the same boat. I had a 'period' on 23rd July and this week I am testing positive with full on symptoms but, like you I have PCOS so, it tends to mean we ovulate whenever our bodies feel like it I think!

I went to the docs Tues and hcg levels placed me at 3 weeks pregnant, which would mean the period can't have been a period... I’m back today for another blood test so will let you know what they say later.

Any updates on you? Fingers crossed for you Flowers

WTF no it can't 🙄

Ttcmumma · 03/08/2023 16:33

This is very unlikely to be an inaccurate result, people get positives from as early as 6dpo, just some don't get until up to 14dpo. Depends how long the egg takes to implant into the uterus. Timing makes sense to me. Congratulations x

PickledScrump · 03/08/2023 19:40

@TwitTwont A flooded test cannot give a false positive. It can occasionally cause the due to bleed which will look like a faint smudge, but it will not give a false positive line.

@Potaylia apps aren’t massively accurate and can often be a couple of days out so I wouldn’t get too hung up on them. 7dpo is too early for a positive especially one that dark so you likely ovulated earlier than you expected, but it really isn’t all that important.

Potaylia · 13/08/2023 19:50

@mamagosh Yeah very true about PCOS, before I was diagnosed I had cycles like clockwork and I think I’m still trying to accept that my body doesn’t work like that anymore! No updates from me, we had a negative digital the night of the test and another negative digital 3 days later. I haven’t tested since then, I’m convinced I’m not pregnant. Period is no where to be seen yet (day 32 of cycle) but I don’t think I’ll test again until at least day 36 (my longest cycle length so far!) as otherwise I just become obsessive!! How are things for you? Hoping the blood test gave you some more answers ❤️

@Ttcmumma thank you!! Had 2 negative digitals since then so l think somehow it must have been a false positive, drove myself insane for a while but I’ve accepted that as the result for now and will just wait to see if my period shows up :(

@PickledScrump thanks for your response! I think somehow it was a false positive as I’ve had 2 negative digitals since then. Giving up testing for now as I wait for period to show, had all the usual symptoms but I’ve been pregnant twice before and could never tell the difference in symptoms anyway
