I had lurked on this for 1 year taking in all you tips. I was trying for baby number 2 and my periods were getting closer together. They were between 22-25 days (normally 28).
I am now 19 weeks and the the month I got my bfp I just wanted a break from it all, I stopped using ovulation tests and we only bd once around the time I suspected I ovuated.
But I also took the following vitamins Vitex. B6, Co q 10 (which I took every month), I really think adding the b6 and the vitex helped me. Vitex is supposed to be good for low progesterone which I suspected I had. Hope this helps someone, as you all have helped me. Good luck and thinking of you all 🙏

Ahh congratulations to you!

I have been TTC 3+ years now and have just been discharged from the hosptial gynae due to there being no reason for us not catching an egg and we can't afford ivf...plus I am 42 and she said the chances of it being successful would be low. She advised me to stop doing the opks and stop temping as in her words "they don't get you pregnant, just stress you out which can affect fertility so throw them out and just bd every 2-3 days" She also said to take folic acid and 1000mg Vitamin D only, but I am adding 200mg of coq10 to the mix too and sticking to just those 3 supplements.

Feels strange not peeing on an ovulation stick every day but I have to say I do feel little more relaxed already xx

@Khanny I feel for you, I hope you are OK. You do need some months of just trying not to think about it. I am 42 also, there is hope at our age. I really do think the vitex helped me as I felt more myself after taking it, not as hormonal or moody and the vitamin b6, but as I say I suspected my progesterone was low and I was trying to make my cycles longer. So it's not for everyone. Really am thinking of you and hope you get your bfp.

@myhappyday thank you so much for Charing and congratulations!! How wonderful! We’re 8 cycles in trying for baby 2. I’m already on coq10 and b6, but I think I’ll add vitex next month. Assuming I’m out this month 🤷🏼‍♀️ 8dpo

@Khanny there’s absolutely no chance we could bd every other day, and the month we tried to be that frequent, we were knackered by the time peak came and missed it entirely 😅😱 timing with OPKs and BBT can be very helpful for people who can’t have sex that often, which can be for loooooaads of reasons

myhappyday · 18/07/2023 21:41

@FoodFann all the best with it all. It will happen soon, look up info on vitex first and see if it's suitable for you as I took alot of vitamins and supplements throughout the year that weren't good for me and delayed my cycles (everyone is different). Really hope you get your bfp soon 😊

The probability if conceiving increases each month when actively TTC. By 12 months most couples in believe it is 85% wouldnhave conceived. Your chances each month under 35 is max 25% some say 15-25%. So it probably is just w probability rather then anything you actually took.

@myhappyday I'm not really ok to be honest, its been a long and difficult journey as I presumed fertility would not be an issue having already had 2 children 20 years ago (to my ex-husband). My husband now has had SA which came back with no issues at all so he was discharged after our first appt with the gynae.

I have tried everything I have read success stories about on the internet so have already tried Angus Castus in around February of this year - is that the same as Vitex? I seem to remember no period coming but now I am wondering if it was even the Angus Castus that messed up my cycle or whether I had just begun to be more irregular. I've not had a period since 5th May now and when I had that period I took Soy Isoflavones CD 2-6 after reading so many success stories but I wasn't one of the lucky ones...

I have noticed over the last maybe year that I never ever get the tender/heavy breast feeling anymore and I always used to get that during ovulation and again just coming up to my AF. I do still get a crampy shooting pains feeling around my uterus but its all the time, not just a couple of days a month so I don't know what sort of imbalance I have but my accupunturist said I do have an imbalance.

Khanny · 19/07/2023 09:25

@FoodFann Ohh I totally agree. Every 2-3 days until successful could mean ALOT of bd'ing! Even dh would get fed up of that! I have done opks for such a long time now it has become draining. I am obsessed with timing them right and if I can't test at the time I need to then I think I've messed up my record keeping and/or missed my peak and it just upsets me, again which can have a big impact on fertility so trying to have a break from it and just take the 3 supplements🙏

myhappyday · 19/07/2023 20:07

@Khanny I do think Vitex is from the angus castus plant. Its a tough one for you. Don't give up hope, but look after yourself too. That's the most important thing 🙏 Really hope you get good news soon.
