Playingthewaitinggame · 26/02/2008 12:18

Hi everyone, not really had time to catch up on everything as I am busy at work today, just wanted to pop on and say hi.

Diege · 26/02/2008 12:19

Hello!! Dinner is bubbling away in office microwave (it smells v,fishy in here now so a few minutes to pop on!
This must be the busiest thread on mumsnet!!
I may be able to shed some light on anti-d Nat (I'm resus negative myself). You may not have received it after ds2 as they may have tested his blood and found it negative (hence you don't need it as he wouldn;t be producing antibodies). You would have received it I think after your MC, and would get it again during the next pregnancy as the guidelines have now changed in most NHS Trusts to give it anyway at 28 weeks (if you consent). You not having it after ds2 certaintly wouldn't have effected the MC.
HERON, I think you are supposed to follow your mother's menapuase roughly, so lots of time for los!!. I'm 38 in May, so hoping to get it all over with by 40, but then I did start at 30 so entitled to 'parole' .
Right, buzzer has pinged! Fish pie anyone?

ohjoy · 26/02/2008 12:29

Just got back from lunch - feeling so much better now!

Diege, i hope you're right that i am the same as my mother! i got started on this whole mummy thing quite late in life, at 37.

If it doesnt work out, ie, no more babies, at least i still have my DS.

so i am trying not to get stressed about it all!

NatalieJane · 26/02/2008 12:41

Diege, I didn't have the Anti-D at all with DS2, not even at 28 weeks, and I didn't go to the doctors with the MC, so I didn't get it then either.

Did you decide which house to put an offer in for?

Heron, I am sure your DS will not be an only child for long!

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:02

Hello,
I didnt really get much sleep as I just couldn't get comfy.

Its Tuesday today, Nearly time for Teuch to be back. I remembered that while trying to get to sleep.

Diege · 26/02/2008 13:04

Ah, that would make sense Nat if ds 2 is negative. Also, I think it's actually later mcs that you would need anti-d for (when the placenta has 'taken over'), so nothing for you to worry about .
House-wise, our offer on fave house was rejected (think they're only after the asking price and no lower from what the agebt said ). But then dh was a bit worried about the hoodies that seem to gather in the passge-way at the side of the house, so maybe a blessing in disguise! We're sorting a second viewinng on house no.2 anyway, so fingers crossed!

Teuch · 26/02/2008 13:07

hey folks, nice new thread!! I'm not back - I am storm-stayed on the mainland so squeezing in extra shopping

I tested today - BFN - which was madness [rolling eyes emoticon] T'was a tesco own brand thingy which clearly states "from day of period due" or whatever, and it is not, yet...so I have to wait and test again, even though I am sure that it would have shown up positive if I were IYSWIM!!

This is what the 2ww does to you...

Welcome Lassie and Heron! (and anyone else I missed...not read old thread!)

Playingthewaitinggame · 26/02/2008 13:08

OO most of the chat today seems to be completely over my head!

Really hope you are knackered/feeling sick for a good reason Kay!

If we're sympton spotting again I had a really sharp pain in my tummy today which lasted about 30 mins and made me feel very hot and sick. Might be a sign ? Or possible trapped wind as I am on CD15 and not actually trying

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:08

I hope you manage to get the second house.

My pregnancy tests have been posted already, they'll be here tomorrow.

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:09

Teuch you are here!!

Sorry to hear about the BFN

Hope you are ok!

Playingthewaitinggame · 26/02/2008 13:09

Hi Teuch,

Sorry to hear you are stranded but it does give extra time for shopping which is never a bad thing

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:14

Hey anyone who wants to buy some of those pregnancy tests from here I have been sent a discount code which is value5%
It said it can be used by anyone I know that is ttc.

NatalieJane · 26/02/2008 13:22

Diege, shame about the house, fingers crossed for no.2 I don't if DS2 is negative, that was just my theory on it! I can't get my head around all the positives and negatives stuff, I did understand it all first time round, maybe they are right and pregnancies do makes your brain cells float away!

Kay sorry you couldn't sleep, it is such a PITA when you are trying and it isn't happening. Keep hold of that code, I will need it one day!!

And last but not least!!!!......

Teuch, fancy going off and leaving us like that!!! Sorry about BFN, but it really isn't over yet, when is your period due? I didn't get a BFP with DS2 till I was 9 days late, I did however get plenty of BFN's! It is only over with your period arrives, in fact, it is only over about 36 hours after your period arrives, just to make sure it isn't implantation bleeding!!

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:27

Why have I ordered those tests?
Do you really think they'll work 8-10 days after having your GOF?

ARGH!!!!

Im going crazy

popcornprincess · 26/02/2008 13:43

Hello ladies - long time no speak. have been very busy with work - it's soooo wrong! . Anyway got AF today - yippee. (never thought I would ever be happy about that) at least it means we can start ttc now!!! whoo hoo. xxxx

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:45

Yay Popcorn!!!
Another one ttc!!!

popcornprincess · 26/02/2008 13:46

Fingers crossed the next one makes it to full term. Ooh a little ahead of myself I know but I CAN'T wait to get started!!!

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:49

I know, I have got 10 days until I can do a test and Im so excited, scared and nervous.

Its going to drive me mad and Im going to drive all of you mad too.

NatalieJane · 26/02/2008 13:51

Got my fingers crossed as well Pop

Kay don't worry, if it is BFN, doesn't mean your not pregnant, just means you have to wait a little bit for a BFP Besides with your symptoms, I don't think we will be waiting too much longer for your BFP!

popcornprincess · 26/02/2008 13:52

10 days!!! How the hell are you going to manage not to explode before then??? Drive us mad - we love it!

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 13:55

I dont think I can manage to wait. I'll be doing on of these tests I've ordered just incase it does work. But if its a BFN then I'll just wait until af shows up and if it doesnt then I will do the boots tests I got.

NatalieJane · 26/02/2008 13:59

Kay, if you are anything like me, those tests will be gone well before your period is due!!

So when will you do the first one? I am guessing that the HCG will be building up in your body pretty quickly for you to feel the symptoms so early..... not that I am trying to make you test A.S.A.P.

kayzisbroody · 26/02/2008 14:03

On Friday. They say it can detect HCG from 7-10 days after conception so friday will be about 7 days. I did order 2 so I will have 6 tests altogether.

Diege · 26/02/2008 14:04

My take on the early testing is that it's actually best to see a BFP as a process rather than a straight yes/no. I like to test super-early so that I'm still 'in the game' but at the same time can mentally prepare for a negative too. In other words, you don't have the huge build up, so easier whatever the result?
Have I convinced you yet Kay? (and Teuch??0 .
Oh and of course you must 'revisit' every thrown away test, to peel away top layer and reexamine the next day!!
