TTC our second which was delayed for a number of years sadly.
Reaching 45 anytime has run out but I'm hoping any positive stories of being pregnant over 44 might help 😊
IVF isn't an option.

So did you have a second, first, third....over 44?

I got pregnant at 43? I also had a very early miscarriage at 6 weeks a few months prior to that. She is now 12!
She was my last baby. Harder to conceive than all the rest though. Took 6 months after m/c. Pregnancy was absolutely fine and completely normal, as was the birth. Goodluck OP.

redskyatnight99 · 10/07/2023 12:25

@neveradullmoment99 thank you
I think I have to face facts that it's probably too late and I'm so, so grateful for our beautiful DD. X

lillypilly7 · 24/10/2023 08:20

@Charzz congratulations!
Also 45 and TTC number 2.
It's been a year.
Had my first aged 40.
Are OPKs worth a shot?
Cycles are very regular and 24 days.

Ome · 22/11/2023 10:43

I'm 45 also and 7 weeks pregnant, it is easy to say try not to worry but my grandmother had child the year before me, we went to school together, my grandmother only passed away 2 years ago she was great, she helping raise Me also as my father passed when I was only 6 he had cancer he was only 36 so there really is no point worrying I believe life's already laid out for us xx good luck and enjoy your little bundle x

daisychainrose · 22/11/2023 11:20

Congrats @Ome
All the very best.

It's very encouraging to hear of others TTC at 45 and conceiving!

There is hope for you don’t lose hope though I know everyone is different x . I’m 45 but much closer now to 46 & have just discovered I’m pregnant, trying NOT to conceive. I had not long had coil removed, was trying natural contraception to avoid pregnancy as periods still regular like clockwork. Was even using ovulation tests to make doubly sure when I’m fertile and to avoid this time! As well as using withdrawal. However the latter didn’t happen on one occasion and the ovulation test strips were useless I’ve since discovered ! I know exactly when I conceived as partner works away. It was day 10 of my cycle. I am awaiting private scan this week before I share this news with anyone including my partner first, as I was too early on when I found out to know if this pregnancy is viable or not. I do however feel very pregnant! Should now be 6 +4 . Age can be a factor ofcourse but everyone’s different so, you truly never know xxx wishing you best of luck with TtC xxx

theleavesfall24 · 02/01/2024 05:58

@Sunshinemoon2020 congratulations on your pregnancy!
How are you feeling? How did the tests go?
Also 45 and TTC number 2 but with no luck!
We have been TTC for about 2 years...

Interesting what you say about the OPKs not being very reliable 😊
When I fell pregnant with my first I didn't get one positive on the Clearblues....

How long are your cycles?

Mine are still pretty regular but shorter at 24/25. And because I'm using the FLO app and tracking more I'm aware of when my AF is much heavier if I've had a stressful month etc.

Did you also take any vitamin s?

X

Sunshinemoon2020 · 02/01/2024 08:27

@theleavesfall24 Good morning lovely. Thank you for your reply. Firstly I want to wish you the very best with TTC. It’s coincidental you asked me about vitamins cause I last night, with early pregnancy insomnia, spent time looking online & have discovered that a vitamin I was taking for skin benefits, is thought to help fertility which I had no idea of!!! 😆

It made me wonder if that played any part or not, though I doubt it. The vitamin is COQ10, which I was taking for skin benefits & energy for about 8 months! I also always take a multi vitamin & iron. Have done for years. I work out regularly (not obsessively) & run.

My cycles have been very regular at 28 days for about 15 years. In my 20s they were every 26 days.

If I knew my partner would be happy, even though I would have to deal with everyone’s judgements at mid 40s, that part I will deal with, other peoples issues are their problem not mine - and I would be over the moon as well as nervous ofcourse like any mum to be.

But I don’t think he will be. At all. More so through his own anxiety and past experience in relationships. I think he may need some time to process & I hope that he will come around to it. He is a good man it will just trigger worry thoughts for him at first, this I know.

I will keep hoping for some positive news for you and your partner in 2024🙏🏼☺️

xxx

Hi . I conceived naturally at 44. I was playing netball regularly and continued for almost 5 months as I didn’t realise I was pregnant. Pregnancy was pretty good except for high blood pressure at the end. Good Luck OPx

Sunshinemoon2020 · 02/01/2024 08:45

Thank you, I’ve been carrying on working out & running as usual so far but it’s very early days still. Wow that must have been such a shock albeit lovely one, to find out 5 months in. I’m so glad your pregnancy was mostly smooth. I hope high BP didn’t cause too many issues towards the end. I hope you and little one (or maybe bigger now , not sure how long ago your pregnancy was ) are both doing well x

Bea11 · 02/01/2024 09:05

Hi there, I've just had my 4th baby at 45. We weren't actively trying to conceive but also, not doing anything to stop it (thought it was highly unlikely tbh) and so we were surprised but overjoyed on finding out we were expecting! Pregnancy was very smooth and she's a very chilled baby so far. My other babies were born when I was 36, 38 and 43. I also had 3 miscarriages in between the second and third babies which was tough.

Don't give up hope as there is always a chance! Wishing you the very best of luck xx

Sunshinemoon2020 · 04/01/2024 12:42

Just discovered for certain my little bean didn’t make it. A missed miscarriage 😢It was not meant to be I suppose, doesn’t stop the sadness. But I do accept that 🙏🏼 🤍 Never lose hope for pregnancy 🤰 & it being healthy no matter age. I have one friend older than me who had her now 10 year old at 48, naturally. She is now 58 (!) BUT it gave her a new lease of life too 🥰 Best of luck and best wishes to all x

Bluelightbaby · 04/01/2024 13:09

This is so positive to hear, I’m 44 in a week and have been TTC for 2years :(

went a maternity unit with work the other night and was chatting to a MW who said they see so many women in their mid to late forties and it’s so normal now which was reassuring

SylvieLaufeydottir · 04/01/2024 13:14

My younger sister is the result of a natural pregnancy at 45, delivered at 46. Both mother and baby entirely healthy.

Sparks654 · 23/03/2024 22:39

summerbreeze2000 · 13/04/2024 03:38

Has anyone had any luck with CB digital OPKs??

summerbreeze2000 · 15/04/2024 07:49

So I got a 0 on day 8.
A flashing smiley face on day 9.
A static face on day 10.

All testing on first morning wee.

Is it right to have such a short flashy smiley face?

My cycles are pretty regular at 24/25.

DTD the morning of Day 10....
Too late? Maybe try again tonight ?

Ahhhhhhh
