Getting pregnant with light short periods

Recently my periods have become light and short. This month saw an improvement but I just still feel its too short and light and Im concerned about my lining. My periods used to be 5 days full flow and one day on / off spotting but now ,
For example my last 3 periods
April. Very light bleeding / spotting 1 day only
May: light bleeding 2 days and spotting 1 day
June: light bleeding 2 days. Complete stop evening of day 2 started evening of day 3 again but just spotting for another day.
Even after hours I could never fill a tampon.
Had a scan a few months ago and they said not concerned but nobody is giving me a reason why my periods are like this. How am I hardly shedding any blood. I'm very concerned how this is affecting me and could this be the reason I'm not getting pregnant. I did get pregnant at new year but it didn't implant properly.

My periods have always been light and for me it was my lining. I went through ivf was dosed up on oestrogen patches and tablets which got my lining where it needed to be and then for my transfer I had extra progesterone pessaries and progesterone injections. I'm now over 13 weeks pregnant. Don't lose hope xx

My periods have been like this since my MMC in January. I've had numerous scans where they're happy with my lining and no visible issues at all with my reproductive organs.
However I am currently being tested for overproduction of prolactin due to some kind of discharge from the nipples, failing to fall pregnant again since the MMC and very unexplained weight gain ( tho my thyroid is fine). Doctor told me if my prolactin is too high it would affect periods and also ability to concieve so would need treating. Worth getting all your bloods checked x

I stopped my pill around 8 months ago and my periods have gone to 2-3 days long. My latest period (last weekend) literally lasted 24 hours and by the evening it had stopped. Oh and they are 35 days apart.

Before I was on the pill my periods used to be every 28 days apart and they'd last for 5 days, 2 heavy and 3 lighter days. Then when I was on the pill I had maybe 2 periods a year, it completely messed them up. They would still be 5 days and regular flow though.

I've never gone to the doctors to investigate further but any insight you guys could give me as well as the OP would be amazing 🙏

Hello @KJ00

Sorry to hear you are concerned. I also had very light periods after my MMC - about 3 days of brown spotting each month, no red bleeding at all.
I had the standard tests done at the GP including progesterone and they came back ok.

After 4 very light periods though I did become pregnant, and I’m now 38 weeks. So I just wanted to say that it is still possible. I voiced my concerns with my GP and an IVF consultant (just before I found out I was pregnant) - they both didn’t seem to think it was a problem and that it was a good sign that I was having regular periods.

Im sorry you’re being dismissed by doctors though, it’s very difficult and worrying x
