Hi Everyone,

So I'm 40 years old with an almost 3 year old who was conceived within 1 month of trying. Now been 'seeing what happens' and not using any contraception for the last 4 months or so and my period is currently 5 days late.

I'm using an app to track my periods and my cycles are long but very regular - around 33/34 days long normally - I'm now on cycle day 39.

I did a test 4 days ago and it was negative.

I'm tired and cranky and a little off my food but nothing major and can't say my boobs are particularly tender which was my main early sympton last time. I've had a weird feeling where my left ovary would be but that comes and goes....oh, and I'm extremely bloated.

So should I retest now or just put it down to my age and wait a week or so to see if anything happens?

WWYD?

I'd test again if it's been 4 days since last test

Thank you - I feel like I'm almost frightened to get my hopes up and retest only to get another negative, does that make sense?
The not knowing is driving me crazy but at least with not knowing I still have a little hope 🙈

Well, for anyone interested I took a test this evening and it was a BFN.

I'm cramping quite a bit, mild to moderate pain where my ovaries are but still no AF.
So weird.

Were you stressed recently? Delays in cycle can sometimes be caused by stress, among other things.
