Strong positive FRS but faint pound land??

Hey everyone,

I'm a little confused. Back story - we are on cycle 5 on TTC, I have a son who’s just turned two, I’ve missed my period by a day/two days.. I took a pound land cheap strip test last night and it was positive, but faint. Took another this morning, again faint (possibly fainter than the one before so I’m here thinking probably a chemical and feeling a little disheartened?) however I ordered some first response tests not the early detection just the normal ones and I have a very strong positive…

has anyone had it where the pound shop tests are very faint and then first response was dark like almost a dye stealer??

confused if this is a chemical or not. I’ve had two miscarriages before my son, and I suffer with endometriosis.

ill upload a picture of the pound shop test and the first response.

if anyone has any advise or been in the same situation please let me know how it turned out. Thank you!

That’s a definite positive! Congratulations.

I had a fainter line on a test strip like yours but a positive on digital and very strong line on a First Response test. My son is now 14 months.

@Monkeymonkeymoo Thank you for your reply! Congratulations on your son that gives me some reassurance.

Strange how one has a barely visible line and one is a dye stealer lol I guess I’ll test tomorrow and see where we go from there! X

Definitely positive. Congratulations 🎉

Yep I had this, some cheaper ones were neg while the first response was positives like yours. I was definitely pregnant and no chemical.

gamerchick · 22/06/2023 16:14

What do you mean barely visible, I didn't even have to enlarge it? Those are positive tests, now stop testing.

ladycarlotta · 22/06/2023 16:42

it's probably to do with how sensitive they are. Some test strips are as sensitive as FRER, some are nowhere near. If yours are from poundland you shouldn't be surprised if they are less sensitive. But they are both clear lines, so congratulations either way!

Different brands aren't comparable with eachother! You have strong lines on both tests. Congrats
