Long Luteal Phase and TWW??

Hey guys!

I had a miscarriage in April and last month was 4 days late for my period I reckon just due to my cycle being mixed up from the miscarriage. I’m currently 8/9 DPO (unsure as I don’t temp and I had a lot of ovulation pain the night of my peak) . My expected period according to Flo app is still 8 days away (due on 26th) .

stupid question, but if the app is right and my luteal phase is a bit longer, this doesn’t affect me testing if somehow I’m pregnant?? Would this only affect my upcoming period if I didn’t conceive?

im hoping to test 12dpo , which would still be 4 days before expected period according to the app?

thanks in advance

Hi 👋🏼 I have PCOS and slightly irregular periods so I never do testing by when my period is due but by DPO.
ny last pregnancy was a chemical but I got a positive at 8 dpo and the app said my period wasn’t due for another 12 days but I think it just give me random period guesstimates as it’s a different length every month, so I think DPO is more important

Thanks so much! That’s good to know! I don’t think my luteal phase is generally that long just with the miscarriage it seemed to extend and I also was taking Pregnacare Conception and have today seen they can lengthen your cycle! Awh I’m sorry to hear that!! Hopefully you get your BFP soon if that’s what you are after!! Xx

I would also go by dpo as implantation would typically happen between 6-12dpo and HCG levels rising after that so by 14dpo you should deffo see a BFP, irrespective of whether AF isn't due for another few days. Good luck! 😊

Also, very sorry for your loss. I also had a MMC in April and now back on TTC. My luteal phase has seemed similar but I seem to be ovulating earlier than usual. My cycles are normally around a textbook 28 days and last cycle was 25. Only caught my peak by chance so have started testing earlier this cycle! Who knows what will happen?!

Thank you so much! I got my BFP yesterday at 9dpo although my period was technically a 9 days away 😂 hoping you get your BFP xxx

If you don't mind me asking, how many periods had you had since your loss? I had one about 5wks after, and then my first full cycle with the period that has just finished and now waiting for ovulation again. Were you similar? I know it doesn't really mean anything as everyone is different but just love stories of hope right now!!

So I miscarried on the 17th of April and bled for a week or so. I seemed to ovulated CD21 of that cycle which would be a little late for me, i then was 4days late for my period but I did research and I saw that it can make your cycle longer. So I had a proper period 5 weeks after my MC . I then ovulated on CD 18 this month which would be normal for me I never ovulate too early. Maybe I didn’t ovulate last month as the LH surge was so late! So one messed up cycle and thankfully have gotten back to normal! Very anxious today as I wish I waited to test a little later incase it’s a CP but I do feel my symptoms are stronger than they were with the MC already! Our bodies do recover super quickly so hopefully you ovulate soon! I only use OPK tests I don’t temp! I was going to start next month if I didn’t catch this month just to make sure it’s not just a surge xx

@Kilminchy123 thanks for replying. I miscarried that same weekend. Ah bless you, but strong symptoms are positive! Unfortunately I suspect early days of pregnancy after a loss will be nerve-wracking whatever you do or don't do! I believe there are some threads for folks going through pregnancy after loss on here - probs worth checking out! Wish you all the best. ❤️
