V faint line frer 3 days in a row 8-10dpo

Hello, this is my first post so not sure if I’m doing it right but I’ve found lots of comfort reading others stories during my journey which I’ll go into another time but it’s been difficult and I’m now in my 2nd cycle ttc after loss and not being allowed to try for 6 months.

I’m now 10dpo and have had the faintest squinting move in the light and stretch to see it lines on frer the past three days which are maybe the teeniest teeniest bit less faint each day but still barely there. All came up within the 3 mins but I know frer can be notorious for Evap lines and indents and false hope. I know all I can do is keep testing and see if it gets darker but I feel so hopeless and just want someone’s advice, opinion, support.

i’ll try and upload pictures now not done this before but please if anyone could give their opinion/experience, am I seeing things? Is this nothing? Could this be the start of something?

first image is all three together but hard to see in the light top is 8dpo middle is 9dpo bottom is today 10dpo.

all done with fmu, I get nothing in the afternoon with few hour holds and these faintest lines with fmu all frer so don’t know if I’m being incredibly unlucky only getting indents in the morning?!

thank you

@Blossomandbee I agree it’s really unfair, it seems quite a few people have experienced these indents and it’s easy to see how people can get their hopes up by seeing them on tests that should be yes or no and getting false hope when all they want is to see a line appear on a pregnancy test :(. Thank you, will update either way, just got to see what the weekend brings now!

@orangie it is so upsetting. Sorry to hear you went through it too, it’s really not fair and frer shouldn’t be doing this to people. All we want to see is a line on a pregnancy test as that’s what we’re told means it’s positive so surely there shouldn’t be allowed to be a literal grey area!

i’d rather it be stark white so then I know not to get my hopes up rather than allowing myself to hope and then having it taken away again, especially after a loss in my case.

I’ve not tried smu yet will try that next time I test, which I’m telling myself will be Monday but I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop myself tomorrow morning. Did you get stronger indents on smu or did you ultimately get bfp’s with smu?

Indents were all the same; I went mental tbh; trying to edit them on my phone etc! It was a wild time.

I would say you're having a chemical, not indents. I had the same in February, the lines were there and stayed the same for days, then my period arrived late. TTC for 14 months and this was the only month it happened, definitely a chemical as couldnt have been indents on the all of the millions of tests I took that month when I never got a single indent any other month. I went on to conceive in march and am now 15 weeks. Good luck.

Any updates today? Have you tested again? 🤞🏼

Chels1991 · 10/06/2023 22:21

any update? I came on here as I’m having really similar very faint lines. Seen some pics on here of FRER and the indents are awful!! I’m 11DPO and this is mine.. barely there

Hi everyone, so sorry for the delay in updating, it annoys me when the OP never gives the final update when I’m following threads so I wanted to make sure I did!

Unfortunately I started spotting the day after my last post and af came in full force last Sunday right on time. I’m still a bit traumatised from the miscarriage and feel like every time I get my period I’m forced to almost relive it in a way which really upsets me hence not being able to bring myself to write this post whilst I was processing my feelings :(.

every month ttc feels like a constant cycle of the disappointment and trauma of af, then waiting for ovulation and the hope and excitement and possibility of trying again then the anxiety and overthinking of the 2ww then back to the crushing disappointment and sadness when af comes yet again another failed cycle.

the indents on the frer were cruel and shouldn’t be made like that when emotions are already high for so many desperately wanting to see a line when taking a pregnancy test. I’ve seen a lot of people have had this issue on frer and it’s not fair. I know people recommend frer but I’d really only use it as a confirmation when you’ve already got a faint line on something else as I guess you’re likely to get a stronger line on frer at that point but don’t bother before or use a clearblue digital to see the words pregnant as confirmation but I know it’s so difficult to wait and I just wanted to find out sooner than you could on the others but it’s not worth it. I’m going to try my best not to test early this cycle and definitely won’t be using frer as I’d rather no lines on a less sensitive test than a faint line/indent getting my hopes up.

currently cd10 and back to ovulation testing waiting to try again but feeling quite deflated by the whole process.

any advice on things you guys did that helped you successfully conceive would be appreciated. I tried pregnacare but felt it gave me weird symptoms so now just take vitamin d and folic acid. i ovulation test on premom and also clearblue advanced digital and still haven’t figured out whether it’s best to bd every day in fertile window or every other day or just save it up for the static smiley days as have tried both ways and still nothing. Don’t know whether I should be using pre seed or zita west vitamins. Also how long it took you ttc is always useful to hear I guess if anyone out there has any advice or input or could share their journey.

Thank you 🤍

@Laylattc so sorry you've been through this, I also had frer indents that got my hopes up in the past. I've found boots early tests much more reliable and indent free, if that helps.
I fell pregnant last cycle so now in the fresh anxiety of early pregnancy post miscarriage! We used pre seed and made sure to dtd on ovulation day. I confirmed ovulation afterwards using proov tests for the first time.
Sending baby dust and solidarity, what you describe is so familiar to many of us here

KittyAllTheWay · 19/06/2023 15:05

I’m so sorry you’ve been through this. I totally understand, I’ve had some AWFUL and very convincing indents from frer after my MC. It’s heartbreaking each time.

good luck with this cycle! You’re not alone and sending strength and love

Laylattc · 28/06/2023 21:18

Thank you so much for all your kind messages.

going for it again this cycle trying to up the game every month, still taking vit d and folic acid and doing clear blue ovulation testing and premom -have now added pre-seed and the fertilily cup (which I’m still getting the hang of and not sure I’ve done it wrong on my tilted cervix :( ) and doing the SMEP.

Currently 2dpo (I think, I have no idea if you ovulate the day of or after the static smiley/peak?) so we’ll see what happens.

Not going to early test this month (thats the plan right now anyway but the closer I get to period due the harder it is!)

Any tips for the 2ww? I’ve heard pomegranate juice? Keeping feet warm? No heavy lifting?
