Hello all, I’ve just turned 25 and trying for my first. I’ve had two chemical pregnancies in 4 cycles. Anyone had success after two?

I’m so sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancies. There is definitely hope though! When I got pregnant with my little boy 2 years ago he was conceived on the 6th cycle and I had 2 chemical pregnancies in the 5 cycles before that.

How are you doing now? I've also just experienced two chemical pregnancies in a row trying for my first x

Hello, I am so sorry for your losses. I ended up having a third miscarriage at 7+3 in July. We took time off of TTC to do a repeated loss panel and found an issue with my thyroid (hypothyroid). Started taking medication for it in October and just now starting to try again!

If your doctor offers repeated loss panel after two losses I would recommend you do it, some make you wait until three. I wish you the best of luck with your journey!

same for me- 2 chemicals in 4 months. I understand they’re really common and people are much more aware of them than they used to be, but it still leaves me worried that there’s an issue I’m unaware of. I also have thyroid issues (was hypothyroid, now treated.)

Pupsandturtles · 17/12/2023 02:52

Did they test you for thyroid antibodies?

wantinghoping · 17/12/2023 07:03

They didn’t test my antibodies, but I sort of assumed I had them since Hashimotos is the leading cause of hypothyroid. So I’ve gone fully gluten free since the thyroid results and started taking a couple supplements (selenium, zinc) and making sure I get enough iodine in my diet. Really hoping it works!

I'm so sorry to hear about your third loss but so happy for you that you've had some answers and hopefully you've had a resolution now and your next pregnancy will be a successful one.

It's so difficult going through this at a young age because I feel like everywhere I've read are older women, often who already have one or two children that are going through this. Not to undermine their problems obviously but I just feel so frustrated that I'm supposed to be in my prime fertility and even at this point I can't get a pregnancy to stick. Sorry for the rant x

Thank you for your kind words!! And your feelings are totally valid, I feel the exact same way, I would be happy with just one sticky pregnancy. The good news is that the majority of ladies with two or more losses will go on to have a successful pregnancy. We are young so time is on our side! It just feels awful being stuck in this spot so far, but once we are holding our babies it will all be worth it!
